Immaculate store and well-cared for fish tanks. Prices seemed reasonable for what I was looking at. I asked the employee on staff for info on co2 and she was informative and up-front about the total cost. Would definitely return for fish and plant purchases once my tank is running
Very helpful owners who clearly love what they do. While the store isn't huge, they make good use of the space and regularly receive new stock. While I am just starting, all of the fish I have ever gotten from them have been very active and healthy. For example, my Betta, in his newly setup tank. We will likely be back for a few more fish soon.
Update. I have been visiting this store for more than a year now. They have always sold me healthy, happy fish. Sign up for their newsletter to stay up to date on what they have in stock. A more recent tank pick is included in this update.
I got shrimp and some other small South American fish and all of them were healthy while in the store. Also both Dale and Alyssa were super helpful for any questions I had about putting certain fish and shrimp together. They sell quality lights and filters and have a decent freshwater fish variety as well as good shrimp varieties. Everything is priced fairly compared to other fish stores I’ve been to. Absolutely recommend this place for getting fish and setting up any new tank
Very friendly and knowledgeable store owner's. There are often rare fish species and all in great health. Also the best plant selection in Pensacola and neighboring cities.
After the fish store by the airport closed its doors, Pensacola was lacking in an independently owned, good, fish store. I'm sad I didn't know until this year that A Fish Store opened.
First thing that hit me when I walked in - look how clean and clear the stock tanks are. Nothing dead - healthy fish. Just so clean.
Fish and plants - I've only been in a few times, but I've never seen anything sickly or "sad". If they get a shipment of fish where a group just hasn't bounced back from shipping, they have no qualms about holding them from sale until they are the normal healthy fish you see in their store.
Need help figuring out what plants might work in your setup - just ask and you will leave knowing tons more. They are happy to answer questions online or in person to help with tank issues.
They carry quality products for tanks (UNS) and supplies. Like anywhere, sometimes the bins for hard scape are scarce, but the weekly newsletter or facebook updates let you know when they get new things in.
Their planted tanks - can we say tank envy! I seriously want to just empty out my tank, bring it over and sit it on the counter and have them help me set it up.
They know their stuff. They sell quality equipment. They have a different variety of healthy fish. Prices may be a bit higher (not crazy), but I expect that in an independent store and honestly, I'd rather pay a little more for my fish to get healthy ones and not have to return dead ones.
I wish I'd known they were around before I set up my last tank as I'm sure I'd have had better luck with their advice from the get-go.
This place was great! I called the owner before I came about dropping off my parents cichlids who they didn’t care for well and the owner was happy to accept them! Sadly I am on vacation and can’t get any more fish but I it was worth the trip! The owner was knowledgeable and the tanks all looked great. I think it’s all freshwater fish and plants.
This place is incredible! I must admit that I was a little intimidated and even embarrassed when I walked in initially, as I am a one Betta fish gal. Dale the owner is so knowledgeable, extremely helpful and so kind. I learned SO much about all things fish, water, and more. I highly recommend A Fish Store to all current fish enthusiasts or anyone like me who’s heart belongs to just one fish :)
I am a paraprofessional at Oriole Beach Elementary who applied for a Pets in the Classroom reimbursement grant for a aquarium in our classroom. The organization only reimburses 125 dollars of the cost. The crew at A Fish Store worked with us and were so helpful and generous that we are well on our way to a wonderful, healthy and happy classroom pet. Your store is so clean and well organized and you both were so knowledgeable, I was very impressed. Definitely a must for freshwater aquarium enthusiasts!

We went and looked around, my girlfriend touched a pig she was very happy (after washing her hands of course), we paid for the zoo part. But someone was doing the kangaroo experience, and 100% my fault I wasn't reading the signs. The kangaroo went up
Amazing little food truck! You can really taste the love and thought that went into everything. Owner is super friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are very fair for the portion size and the hand cut fries are awesome. Definitely recommend trying the
