54th Street Scratch Grill & Bar- Stone Oak - Restaurant in San Antonio - 22902 US-281, USA

This was my first visit to this location of 54th Street Grill and I was pretty impressed! We visited on a Friday evening around 7:00pm, and although it was crowded, we only waited 5 minutes to be seated. They have a huge menu, but we saw they have this 'Dinner for Two' special that includes 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert for $39 - not a bad price! We started with the fried pickles, which came out hot and were very tasty. My Husband and I each ordered the veggie burger which was also very delicious! One thing I appreciated about this veggie burger was that the patty tasted and looked made-in-house. I am not a fan of those prepackaged patties that come frozen in a box, these had a yummy blend of vegetables, grains and greens and fell a part a little when you took a bite into it (which is a sure sign way you can tell you're eating a more homemade veggie patty vs the processed kind). We then finished off with the salted caramel & chocolate brownie served with vanilla bean ice cream that was SO GOOD and the perfect way to finish a meal! Our waiter was also very attentive and kind. Highly recommend stopping in here for a bite!

First let me say our server Alexis was fantastic! However, our table of 10 African Americans customers with great incomes felt targeted by two managers (Ethan and David) on two separate occasions. Why!? Alexis moved two high top tables to accommodate the party. WE did not move ourselves! When we were moved, it appeared we created a fire hazard. Again, we did NOT move ourselves! Never once did they ask anyone at the bar to adjust themselves…just us! Maybe there was an issue with our party dynamics. Maybe we needed to be a part of the “Stepford Wives Club!” Anyhow, didn’t appreciate the two call outs. Alexis is great…five stars for her! Once the party in the corner moved we moved again (see photos). After David asked us to do something we had NO control over…space.

Cool eclectic vibe similar to House of blues or hard rock cafe. The food was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. We could’ve easily shared an entrée after getting the load potato (tater kegs) appetizers. We did not get any adult beverages, but I think they would’ve been good based on what I saw at other tables. The food and the service weren’t very quick even though the restaurant wasn’t nearly full. Which is really my only complaint. That I said, I would definitely return.

This is a beautiful place to eat. Alot of amazing things to look at, the waitress we had was super sweet, even tho she was still pretty new, she was on top of our drinks, the questions we had, and just made the whole experience nice. We didn't like the shrooms, but the manager was nice and even traded out our shrooms for some cheese sticks that were hot, stringy, and crunchy. Over all we enjoyed eating here

Great experience!!! Wish I could go here more often. Our server, Lauren, was the best! She was so patient despite our indecisiveness and she had the best suggestions. The restaurant wasn't too noisy or anything either. Food was great! No complaints. This place is great for all ages! The amount of options they have(specifically for sides) is crazy! It's impossible to not find something you love. I keep a list of mac n cheese ratings. texture- 7/10. consistency- 9/10. cheese- 9/10 overall- 8/10 ! Very good.

Impromptu decision to check out @54thstreet for dinner tonight. I had looked them up previously and remembered happy hour ends at 6pm. Alexis took great care of us. I had the Sangria, my husband had the Coors draft, and Dad with the Strawberry Lemonade. We tried their happy hour appetizers - Crab Cakes for $8 and Tequila Wrappers. Both were great, and I was starting to feel full already. Dad and I shared the Full Rack of Ribs, upgraded to sweet potato fries, and mashed potatoes with gravy. We didn't even finish half between the 2 of us! My husband had the Chicken Fried Chicken. Overall, the food was 4 stars, but the service was 5 stars. More food to work through tomorrow.

Welp , I have officially broken up with 54th Street! Apparently you can get a burger undercooked or downright bone dry. I have gotten it at both extremes. I keep telling myself not to order from here because it’s either a hit or miss but I can recall the few times they actually served an excellent burger. Today the burger was bone dry with Swiss cheese that looked like melted plastic. If I didn’t know any better I’d swear it was a patty left over from a few nights before. Why is there such inconsistency in the quality of the food?!?? Why did I try to renew my faith in this particular restaurant?!?! Am I a masochistic fool?!?!? Sigh….. we are never ever getting back together again…… like never again….🥲

Great food and atmosphere. Won 200 on a scratch card and spent most of it there. Great dinner and drinks. Great service too. Mahalo Great for 17 or more people
