I've switched to attending online classes at 5 Koshas while we all shelter in place, and signed up for the Yoga for Better Sleep series. The technology was easy to set up and also very easy to use. It felt like we were all together. The teachers at 5 Koshas are all well-trained and it shows in how they lead classes during such anxious times. I like that they personalize the classes to the participants, knowing what is stressing or bothering us and addressing it through breathing and movement. Please support 5 Koshas if your'e looking for yoga and wellness.
The instructors and staff are very concerned and very willing to meet my needs. As a 66 year old beginner with shoulder issues, I was somewhat fearful about yoga. I found out very quickly that the instructors accepted me where I was at and that made me feel safe. The facility is extremely clean and the staff is welcoming, friendly, and happy. When I walk into the building I always feel as though I’m meeting friends.
I have gotten so much out of the yoga classes I have taken at 5 Koshas — both in-person before the pandemic and online during the pandemic! I appreciate how welcoming, accommodating, and responsive the instructors are, especially Heather who I've gotten to know particularly well after attending a magical 5 Koshas day-long retreat at Little Girls Point on Lake Michigan that she organized in August 2019. In my experience, all of the instructors provide a space where I feel supported and guided to take care of myself and to break with old patterns in my life so that I can step into my power in and outside of class.
In addition to building up strength in my body, mind, and spirit, one of the most noticeable physical benefits I have experienced has been the low back care I have received through practicing yoga with 5 Koshas instructors. They are incredibly knowledgeable of the human body in addition to being very well-versed in yoga instruction. Whereas my low back is often left still feeling tight after other (non-5 Koshas) yoga classes, 5 Koshas instructors are very intentional with the sequencing of their yoga classes so that we are always compensating for the different ways we are moving our body to bring it back into alignment, resulting in my low back, especially, feeling massaged and relaxed by the end. Finally, there is a really nice community feel to 5 Koshas that has helped me a lot through this pandemic. 5 Koshas is definitely worth checking out for yoga and wellness!
I find the on-line class with Karey at 1pm on Thursday's an absolute God-send. Even before this Pandemic started, traveling to class was getting very difficult for me so I welcomed the on-line class and it has turned out to be most enjoyable and very beneficial. i hope it continues especially when the winter arrives. Many thanks for all the effort put into the planning by everyone concerned.
If you are a mom or mom-to-be, the Prenatal and Postnatal classes with Renee are a must! These classes are extremely helpful before and after labor. Plus, you get to connect with other new moms!
