A family obligation brought my partner and me to Louisville during the snowiest part of January, but because we had the great fortune to stay at Tucker House, what might have been an ordeal turned out to be a wonderful, magical experience that neither of us will soon forget. Looking out at the snow-covered fields and trees from the cozy comfort of our room, lovingly decorated with period furniture and art, made us feel like we had been transported into an early-nineteenth century painting. And Steve and Devona’s hospitality always warmed our hearts (and bellies!) even when the temperature outside threatened to dip below zero. Those amazing breakfasts instantly won a spot in our hall-of-fame of fantastic culinary experiences. We’ve definitely found our go-to place for all future trips to Kentucky.
The ambience & comfort of this beautifully preserved historic home is perfect! I received a warm & friendly welcome at the front door from hosts Davona & Steve. My room had everything I needed, from couples’ matching robes, extra blankets & a room heater. I enjoyed a long soak in the jetted tub with a warm cuppa from the well-stocked drink kitchen. I had my choice of interesting reads from the book shelf & could have watched television from the comfort of the cozy tester bed. I wish I had planned on staying for breakfast because I learned that that is Davona’s specialty! I highly recommend this beautiful bed & breakfast. What a restful & lovely stay!!
This was our second visit to this property, which must say something about our first visit right? Our trip to the United States and stay in Kentucky were short in the planning but when thinking about places to stay we simply couldn't better 1840 Tucker House. ||A wonderful, characterful, historic property filled with accents of years past and two of the most genuine, sincere, friendly and thoughtful people you would ever wish to meet. ||Our bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was fully equipped and the food....one week and 7 pounds heavier says it all, totally delicious, hand made breakfasts every morning with no two morning menus the same....where else would you get that???||To Steve and Devona our heartful thanks for all you did for us, we will return!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at the Tucker House. Loved the antiques, atmosphere, and amenities including the pool which was similar in size to the one at the Louisville Marriott East where we had just stayed for several nights. Steve and Devona have thought of everything, big and small, to make their guests comfortable. Highly recommend.
My family had the pleasure in staying at this wonderful B&B for a family wedding that took place less than a mile away at the Black acre venue. My family converged here from New Jersey, North Carolina and Texas. Our family occupied all of the rooms. The host and hostess are so kind and well prepared that we actually felt we were staying with wonderful friends. The breakfasts were delicious. They accommodated our requested breakfast times. We felt pampered and very well taken care of. It was our family's home while we were there! Others have covered how well appointed this home is, but we all commented on how spotless it was. Clean, clean ,clean !!! Thank you ! I hope we can visit again!
I'm a couple months late in posting, but 1840 Tucker House was a wonderful experience. My wife and I stayed for two nights and spent most of our time exploring Louisville and the surrounding area, but Tucker House was probably the highlight of our trip. The house itself is full of historic charm while still having all the modern comforts. Breakfast was wonderful and Steve and Devona were amazing hosts.
Quaint old Inn with several steps to climb to our room. Very clean. Extremely small bathroom and not good lighting, with creaky floors everywhere. Delicious breakfast and wonderful hostess. 😊 We are conservative and did not appreciate the liberal signs in the front yard.
An old farmhouse converted into a very nice B&B, within Louisville, but with the feel of being well into the country. My wife and I used this a the base for 3 days of excursions through Bourbon country. Breakfast was excellent. Comfortable places, inside and out, for spending some quiet time. A nice library on Louisville and Kentucky. Owners are friendly and talkative, but not intrusive. Only negative was that the bed was definitely smaller than a queen and was a bit on the squeaky side, but it did not take away from a great getaway.

This place is a great place for bourbon & wine tasting in the heart of NuLu. We met several people that were in town for the Bourbon Trail and this was the perfect spot because of all the custom tasting flights they offer and their bourbon selection
It was quite an experience. The cemetery itself was aw inspiring. The property is huge. Ali's resting place is beautiful. It's incredibly well done and seems very peaceful. You won't regret a visit.
