1770 House is an absolute dream. Randi, Molly, Michael and the entire staff there are wonderful and each made our stay so enjoyable. The food is delicious, the house is beautiful, the rooms are charming, and the location is so convenient. The value is also unbeatable. I stayed with a friend and we will be returning!

I very much enjoyed my stay including dinner in the Tavern. The Inn and room were beautiful. The breakfast was perfect. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The location is great - walk to town. Very impressed by the attention to every detail.

this place skimps on amenities. no complementary water/snacks in the room, poor quality but pricey products in the mini bar and free red apples no one wants to eat. the furniture is old and rickety and the toilet paper was budget one ply. the place needs a major update. you don't feel pampered - you feel like someone is counting every penny. The one bright spot is the free breakfast which is excellent! It's a shame everything else was second rate.

We stayed nearby and went to 1770 for dinner. It was a fantastic experience from the moment we walked in until we left. We were greeted warmly and decided to sit in the living room for a cocktail. It was so relaxing and the music playlist was great. Then we went into the dining room and had an excellent dinner. The service and every bite was spot on. It is was totally worth it. Here are some pictures of the blood orange tuna crudo and Scottish salmon. It could not have been a more pleasurable experience!

I have been going to 1770 House restaurant for decades… This year we noticed that the set menu increased from $65 before memorial weekend and then $85. And sides and dessert were extra. We found this quite shocking, and very sad for a place that we love very much. Perhaps they should have a set menu price for locals, or residence. It is as if they have drunk the Hamptons seasonal Kool-Aid… And we did not feel that it was fair.

This review is for the restaurant only. Beautiful, romantic garden and very kind, attentive service. Our waiter was wonderful. The food was unfortunately overhyped, average, and a bit of a disappointment considering the $85 prix fixe only menu.

Fabulous food and service! Attentive staff and delicious food. I had the scallops, pork chop, and date cake. Highly recommend all.

An absolute gem! We visited with friends who stayed here and treated them to dinner. We would have hosted them, but they surprised us during high season. They gave high praise for their comfortable & clean rooms, and our meal together was fantastic. It's a small, but thoughtfully curated menu. We had only been here once or twice before, but we've never left hungry or disappointed.
