Visited 10th planet Lombard from out of town. I really enjoyed my time there. I came in for open mat. Everyone was very friendly, no one was out to hurt anyone. Excellent culture at this gym. The owner of the gym was super friendly, he was showing techniques to students in the class. Would definitely recommend this gym.

Cutting edge no-gi techniques taught at a high quality facility equipped with everything needed to build a strong game for jiu jitsu and striking. Omar, the head coach, fosters an inviting family atmosphere--stop by open mats on Sundays 10AM to meet everyone. Glad to see small business thrive like it does at 10thP Lombard.

My daughter has been going here since she was 4 and has been going consistently for over a year now. I couldn't be happier with this gym Omar and his students he trusts enough to teach classes go above and beyond too make sure everyone is progressing. Very accommodating this place is like our second home now. If 6 stars was an option this place deserves it. Very clean aswell.

Omar is a brilliant jiu jitsu artist and a kind sole. I am in town visiting family all the way from Canada and he let me come in for a class today. He made sure to role with me at the end of class and the guy is a brick wall. Look closely at his knees and you can see the tiny hands he uses to pull you in and suffocate you. The Keyser, Andrew taught a great class on x guard with multiple variations and it really opened new doors for me. At the end he rolled with me and basically gave me a free private, going over everything he used on me in the roll. It's just a matter of time before I switch over to the tenth planet family once I'm back home. There is no family like it.

I really like coming here for nogi and learning leg-locks. There isn't really another school in the suburbs that can compete for no gi and sometimes the guys they bring here are world-class. Overall, great instruction and guys here that teach well.

A friend of mine wanted to come here for a trial class so I accompanied him. Even though I train at another local area gym, the coach who teaching that night, Mike, was super friendly and welcoming. The mats were very clean, all the students were observing good hygiene in terms of wearing flip flops while not on the mats and before even setting foot onto the mats they have you step into a foot bath to sterilize your feet. Mike was great about going around and giving every set of students his time to make sure they were getting the techniques being taught and clearing up any errors he observed. I'll definitely be back to drop in on the leg lock classes they have on Saturdays and for their open mats on Sundays. Edit: Jan 2021 - So I ended up switching gyms to come here around the time I posted this originally (initial review was in the winter of 2019) and after coming here for around two years, albeit very inconsistently for a variety of reasons, including covid over the past year, I have to say Omar might be the most honest person in the world of martial arts when it comes to billing/business. No scum bag moves like contracts that are impossible to get out of, you can go no contract at all, no high pressure sales tactics, no required uniforms, you can wear whatever you want, you can drop in for free, etc.
