Zostel - Backpacker Hostel in Varanasi - Varanasi, India

A true example of excellent hospitality. Without doubt one of the favouritej hotels I stayed during my time in Varanasi Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by manager RAJ, our names were mentioned on the board and we were given rooms. The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant very flexible (appreciate this!) and the cafe on top floor is fabulous and the guy who made masala tea deserves a special thanks. We had four great evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience. Raj is always available and provides what all you need like travel plans, better places to eat.

We stayed here in the middle of the hot summer and it was always so nice to come back to zostel at the end of each day. It's really homely, relaxed and clean. The people are super friendly and helpful too- big shout out and thanks to Rohan, shubham, anshika and Raj, and to Dada for the awesome food! Also had a great time with Shiva, he took us around and knows the city on the back of his hand! We had a great time here, highly recommend. :)

Stayed here for more than a week. Awesome vibe. Great place to hangout. Raj is a Superhost, Kamlesh is a great cook and Pandeyji provided excellent housekeeping services. Overall I was very much satisfied with my stay and would recommend this to everyone who visits Benaras.

The good part about this place is the person managing the place, Raj was very helpful and trying his best to make your stay memorable. Free Wi-Fi with excellent strength. Common area was good with creative wall paintings. They have a locker room so in case you have evening train ot flight, you need not worry about your baggage and also you can use the common area even after check-out. About the property - the bed was not so clean, uncomfortable mattres, dirty blankets, dirty dormitory walls, the bed lamp did not work, the washroom shower was leaking so the washroom was wet all the time. No option for a separate female dormitory and they won't care whom they tie you up with so females please be cautious because it's UP after all. Don't bother to reach early before the check in time because they will make you wait till 12pm even if the hostel is all empty and they will charge INR 100 for every half hr or so for late check-out. Carry your own locks because you will have to buy one from them for a small amount of INR 30. They have a cafeteria with very limited options and the taste is just okay. Location is a few kms from the ghats so you might have to take an auto or uber, you can prefer staying in a cleaner hostels near the Ghats with no transport cost at all. The surroundings/ streets are not clean in either of the places.

I spent the lock down totate of India in this hostel, 1 whole month, I got to know the owners and the guys of the stuff they were very nice and helpful people. Very spacious place with large room to meet and exchange stories and travel adventures with other travelers. room for watching TV, films, documentaries, and some Hindi lessons ... well-equipped rooms and bunk beds. generally well cleaned and tidy. you can spend nice evenings before going to sleep. appetizing

Zostel Varanasi is the first Zostel I tried for a one night stay and it was a good experience. Ambience- The Zostel feels are amazing there are thoughtfully painted walls. Restaurant- The restaurant on the topmost floor is the best part. That was probably our all night stay place. See the pictures attached. Rooms and amenities- Bunk beds' rooms are available. Private rooms are also great. Washrooms are smaller in size but yes it's upto the people using them to keep it clean. Common area is the best part. One can do anything there apart from making noise There are two washrooms in the common area too. Zostel Manager- Special Mention for Raj Bhaiya! He has been an amazing host. Right from pushing us to go for Morning Aarti to accommodating our luggage and giving a lot of other information about Varanasi tourism, he has been very helpful. Location- Situated in the middle of the city yet in the interiors. It's difficult to reach the place. Commute here is an issue if you're using public transport. One has to change vehicle at the chouraha/Gondaliya Chowk and take another auto for Zostel. Own vehicle- there is hardly any space for a vehicle to halt outside the Zostel area. The streets are heavily crowded all the time. Narrow lanes have two lane traffic and people aren't very cooperative.

Located near Kashi Viswanath Temple,the place is clean and provides u great hospitality. Raj bhai, Akshita and their team are very helpful and will guide u throughout your stay. The place provides u almost every facilities like clean room & dorm, common room, tours, pickup & drop facility, massage, wifi, movie night etc. The rooftop cafeteria was great. Great ambience. Will visit again for sure :))Overall experience was awesome.I'll recommend dis place to everyone :). You wont regret,just be there:)

This is one amazing place to stay in if you are coming with friends. I went there with my cousins and had a wonderful stay, couldn't have thought of better in this budget. The staff was very active and made every possible effort to make our stay comfortable. Raj, manager there, was very helpful and guided us well for the city tour, and also arranged for the transport as and when needed. All in all, i am definitely staying there again whenever m in the city. Kudos
