Zostel Kolad - Backpacker Hostel in Kolad, Gove - Raigad, India

Zostel Kolad is a good place to stay, but the management is something that's very pathetic. They don't think practically and just want extra charges for everything. They didn't have a working card machine on a weekend, standard check in time is 12pm and checkout is 10am, which is not feasible if you want to enjoy all the water activities including river rafting. River rafting takes place in morning around 7-8 am and gets over by 11-12pm, they tell us to check out and keep our luggage outside and when we are back they made us change near swimming pool with no proper washrooms. They don't understand the point that we need a proper place to freshen up after rafting, they don't adjust for anything. They even charged us for using the towels after we came back from rafting. Food is also not that great and on expensive side, not worth the money. Would recommend to stay somewhere else for a comfortable trip.

I had a great time here with a couple of my friends, the boat ride to this place is short yet absolutely amazing as it adds on to the uniqueness of the place. The staff was really nice and we had no problem during our stay, the rooms were clean and everything around was maintained well. We tried a lot of different food items from their kitchen and each of them was made to perfection. We were recommended by the host to try a special chicken dish that they serve and it was really amazing. Overall, it was an amazing experience staying at zostel kolad. Kudos to all the amazing staff. Would love to visit again soon

Location of the zostel kolad is good but they have extra charges for everything (e.g. soap, towel). Worst thing is food which is very costly. Have been to other zostels but service of this zostel is very poor. Swimming pool was not cleaned properly as well. Also checkin time is 12p.m. and checkout time is 10a.m. but water activities start after 10am. So if you are planning to stay for a day and want to do water activities, there is no option to get freshen up after doing water activities.overall not worth a penny.

The service here is impeccable! The manager Pablo was extremely sweet and helpful and made sure we get safely on our way even though he was pretty tired. The rest of the staff is also cool and we had a fun time conversing with them. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. Everything is available in the premises and there won't be a dull moment spent. Loads of options of water sports present. You'll need to cross the river to get to the main road, and back to the zostel. It's advisable to bring your own vehicles as we had problems in finding cabs for the return back from the place. 10/10 would recommend.

"I recently had the pleasure of staying at Zostel with a bunch of my friends, and I must say it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Starting with traveling- one can either travel through bus or train or their private vehicle. I wished the zostel staff would have guided us with directions as we were new to the place. The direction shared by the staff were too vague. But the people residing there are extremely sweet they guided us our way to zostel. The Zostel has a beautiful ambiance. The dormitory-style accommodation was comfortable and clean, and the rooms were extremely cozy. There's a common playroom where you can either binge-watch or play games. The in-house cafe, while affordable and tasty, does require a wait of 30-45 minutes for the food, but it's still worth the wait. In terms of location, Zostel is strategically placed, allowing easy access to adventure activities. However, I found that while they do fulfill requests promptly, what was lacking was that special touch where the staff goes the extra mile to provide a warm and welcoming experience. I missed that personal connection and genuine warmth from the staff during my stay. In General I would like to say it's worth the money.

Amazing experience in Zostel Kolad. Great view and scenary. Well maintained and utilisation of space. Desk staff and hospitality is very good. Mr. Roshan kumar and Mr. Samir was very helpful and cooperative. The room service are also good. The canteen can have more cooks to reduce the waiting time. The food tastes is very well maintained. Cleanliness was assured and maintained at all the time, that is very essential point. During whole 4 day stay, the experience was very good. But had a very bad time with the property manager Sachin. Addressing a small issue with this harsh language is not at all appreciated. The language used towards customers and co workers was not good. Telling customers that after checkout they have nothing to with the customers even after they are paying, is kind of rude. Everything else is best and recommended to everyone. Especially the water sports and other activities. Had a very great time.

The staff is good and services like boating, gaming, music are all good too. The reason for just 2 stars is that the management is not that great, we went to the zostel for 2 days and both the days we couldn't use the pool. First day there was a frog in it and the next day it wasn't cleaned as the motor wasnt working. In short we couldn't do anything all day as one would only enjoy the water sports in the evening hours. Food tastes good but its way too expensive considering the quantity. There's no other option to eat outside so we had to end up at the same place both days. The worst thing is that they have a owt dog there who is tied up all day, it was sad to see that, when asked the staff said that he runs away in the jungle so we need to tie him but the place is surrounded by poisonous snakes and other insects, the dog shouldn't even be in this place and should be at home with the owner

Staff was polite and cooperative enough. Limted basic facilities like glasses were not available, we have to use use-n-throw plastic glasses. Restaurant was not open in morning 7:00, that is the time for river rafting. Also in night they start taking order after 8 pm, we have to wait till 8 pm. Drinking water gets exhausted in night.
