Service could have been better. Rooms are good. Small and quite cheap compared to other hotels in Sikkim. Location wise great. Just the room interiors could have been better and as my room was near the road. Continuous disturbance from car crossing through the road was there.
The 4/4 bunk bed was comfortable. It was cleaned everyday and the overall environment was pretty great. Breakfast, dinner - food was very good at the terrace cafeteria. Great vibes. However Zostel is located pretty far from MG Road - this results in some extra costs - taxi fares. Also it is a bit difficult to find taxis late night.
Everything was perfect except the net connection. Found connection issues for Airtel wifi in one of my rooms. Many other peeps did not face any issue in other rooms. So i guess it might be specific to one room. Real gem of the Zostel is its team. They are always up to get you involved in activities. Really really talented people. They can do anything from singing, playing TT, off riding, and definitely parties. Because of heavy rain we could not make many outdoor plans. When the chance permit, they took us to a amazing view point not obviously mentioned on the forums detailing to see points. Must must visit. Kudos to Akash and his team.
I booked my stay with them for a trip in May. On reaching Gangtok I realised that Zostel is not conveniently located, and is quite interior, plus at that point of time there was a lot of a instruction going on... So we had to walk half a kilometer with our luggage on an underconstruction road as no commute could pass. This was not safe at night at all Further, upon reaching there we found the ambience to be very quiet and gloomy.. and our rooms were in the 2nd floor.. so we requested for help with our luggages.. since there are no lifts.. but we were refused. They won't give you toothpaste, even if you request. Overall it was not all worth the high prices. (Twin room) I would suggest please get yourself a good deal at any of the hotels near Mall road.
The Zostel Gangtok is an amazing place for all kinds of travelers. The staff at the hostel are very kind and friendly who are always there to help you with all the random stuff. The hostel is located in a nice serene locality but not very far from the MG Road. I had an amazing experience and I wish them amazing growth....
Zostel Gangtok in Sikkim is a mesmerizing hostel with stunning valley views. The rooms provide a unique experience as clouds seem to enter through open windows. The place offered a pleasant stay. There is a cafe available The location is little far from the mg Marg and the cabs charge more rates for dropping to this place. Rooms were neatly cleaned And service was also good
It was a good stay but alittle bit of far away gangtok town and is to down hill. Walking areound to and forth will back luggage. Rooms are clean and common area is also nice and can meet friendly people
Went to Mellow Fellow randomly but came back with so many memories. Loved the stay! The rooms, the Food, the vibe, the MANAGERS especially. You can see K2 from the roof on a clear day. Loved it. 100 percent recommend and would certainly go back.
