Zostel Banikhet (Dalhousie) - Backpacker Hostel in Banikhet, Kallar - Chamba, India

Although view is very good and property is also good, but it's not maintained well. Dorms doesn't meet zostel standard 1. Mattress were of very poor grade, you could feel springs 2. Washrooms were very smelly, whole dorm was filled with smell 3. Bunker beds were not in good shape, very unsafe for who is sleeping upper side.

The stay in Hostel was amazing. The manger and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel like home. Things I loved 1. The staff were very welcoming and nice. 2. I really liked the layout of bunk beds it was less suffocating. 3. The food was always a 10/10. 4. Last but not the least, the view, you get to see the mountains right when you wake up. It was like a therapy .

Quite a nice place just a little off route from Dalhousie and you either need your own vehicle or you'll have to spend a lot on taxi. Food is also good although options are less and timings are a bit stringent but still it is quite nice.

This place is awesome!! It is so well maintained and cleaned and you get all the food at very reasonable price and my dormentry used to get cleaned on daily basis. The host Rohan is so helping , he is always there whenever required and very friendly too.

Worst experience for me ever on a trip. Stinky washroom. Even worst than a train. Even after repeated requests for cleaning, they didn't listen. Banikhet is not an exciting place to visit either. No crowd in the hostel no vibe plus no places for sightseeing. There are a lot better places than this.

Thanks for this amazing experience. The property is located at a very serene location. We were 4 individuals and had a memorable stay there. Special shout out to Rohan for the seamless experience at Zostel Banikhet! We shall always cherish the time spent there. Thank you so much!

Food timings are very bad. If you are late by 10 min, they don't give food. Wifi is very bad. Even if they have bonfire, you cannot talk around it as it is common area if it's around 10pm. Cannot play song even in low volume (only in mobile speaker with low volume) in common area around night. I am writing this with hungry stomach at 10:59am as I was late by 10min for breakfast. But no one told about breakfast timing. Also food quality is very bad and a plain roti (maida) is of Rs30. The mix veg we ordered was stale and tasted sour.

I am very sorry to give a 1 star rating for a zostel. The view is good with swimming pool and sunset. But that aint enough. Toilets are not good. Food timings are really bad. Food taste aint good. The worst part is the location. If you are not having self vehicle do not choose this stay its far from main dalhousie. Taxis are costly. Also you won't find any hotels near by so you have to stick to zostel food where they have separate timings for each items. Not even provided with hot water when asked to drink at night with the dinner.
