A very good and calm atmosphere. The only thing which is needed here is cleaning, the antiques were kinda dusty so I think in order to preserve them in good condition, time to time cleaning is necessary. Overall it's a nice place.
It's the first in the town. The environment is good and safe for the children. Well done guys, keep it. Hang out with your children you won't regret it. Inside the museum there are so many things to see, even how our forefathers lifestyle.
Churachandpur has two small museums showcasing the rich Manipuri customs and tribal heritage. One is dedicated to the Zo people located on Thangzam Road which was open about 30 years back in 1991. The museum is popularly known by as the Thangzam Museum. This museum has collection of tools and artifacts used by Zo community, a picture gallery, and collection of various types of currencies used by the Zo people. The Museum also boast of telescope used by Watkin Roberts, a Welsh missionary one of the first Christian missionaries in the region. The museum also has leather cannon used during an uprising against British. The uniqueness of the museum is a small recreational area dedicated to children. The museum is opened from Monday to Saturday from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm during summer months while in winters it closes by 4.00 pm. There is a nominal entry fee of Rs 10 of Indian nationals while foreigners have an entry fee of Rs 100. The Museum is managed by the Zogam Art and Cultural Development Authority.
The other museum in Churachandpur is located on the Tuibuong Road, close to the downtown area of Churachandpur. The museum has a section which portrays the history of Manipur from the days of Kingdom of Kanglipak, to the Anglo Manipuri wars and the British Raj. The museum also has a large collection of tribal artifacts from different communities of Manipur. These include tools & implements, costumes & jewelries, weapons and model of house. This is relatively a larger museum of the two. The museum is opened from Monday to Saturday from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm during summer months while in winters it closes by 4.00 pm. Best child hang out spot in town. They have an unique and intresting equipment for children to play with. Your child will like this place a hundred percent, i can say that with confidence.
In the tribal museum you can see all the historical events of how the tribal ancestral lived, also besides that theirs a children's fun park to ve fun whole day and a coffee day cafeteria to relaxed for everyone when they're thirsty or tired.

The museum has history about the tribals here at Manipur especially Churachandpur area. Also, nice place to take out kids here as it has a compact & mini children park.
