Zambala Guest House - Hotel in Algarah, Paiengaon Forest - Kalimpong, India

Stayed there for 3 days with family. Neat and clean and well maintained Guest House. Mr. Tshering, the owner of the guest house is very well behaved person. The food served was totally fresh and you will feel like eating at home, and that too the price was reasonable. Mr. Tshering arranged the car for sightseeing. The guest house is about 15km from kalimpong town which is also a great advantage because of the fact that the sightseeing spots are all nearby Algarah. In short, if someone wants to enjoy homemade foods and a homely atmosphere, then its the best option. Regards.

It was an awesome experience. If you guys want to stay at the lap of the nature, its perfect for you. Additionally I would like to say "Thanks for everything" to the management authority who helped us to plan every sightseeing. Food quality was above the expectations. Proper professional behaviour with the warmth of humanity. I personally felt like- I'm staying any of my friend's house! 100% recommendation from my end.

I just want to make something clear about the negative reviews which made me think twice before booking but if I would not book, then I would miss a pleasant stay. 1. Hot water : I read that hot water is available only in the morning but we got 24*7 2. Food variety : It was written that variety of food are not available but it's a homestay and they provide 5-6 options for every meal and according to order Mrs. Bhutia starts preparing that so open your eyes to focus on the positive thing. 3. Food cost : It cost 450/head for 5time(2day's dinner,2day's breakfast including tea,1day's lunch) for us. Still If it seems costly then try to pack your food from home. 4. Food Quality : Mrs. Bhutia cooks delicious food,specialy home made noodle was unique one. 5. Food service : Lifestyle in such places is different from metro city. People get into sleep within 8pm. So if they provide food at 8.30pm then they doing a lot for you. What if you ask for dinner at 1am in the night in metro city hotel? We reached hotel at 8.30pm when the whole place becomes silent still they served the food at 9.30pm in casserole which was hot enough. The rooms are exactly same as picture, well decorated, clean and excellent view from window. They provide regular water in the room but if want you can get paid sealed bottle. Location is good, you will everything like market area but environment is peaceful.

We were warmly welcomed by the owners of the guest house with cups of hot green tea. The rooms were very clean and tidy. The food that was offered was really delicious. The view from the balcony was truly enticing. The guest house being situated in Algarah is away from all the hustle bustle of the Kalimpong town. We had a pleasant stay.

This is an awesome place to stay. It is 15kms uphill from Kalimpong town. But u have every facility there starting from ATM ,medicine shop beauty parlour,bar cum restro etc. Thousand times better place to Stay here at Algarah than to stay amidst the hustle bustle of the town. All u find here is Serenity...beautiful surrounding.all the tourist places from here like Delo...Lava...Rishyop..pedong are nearer from here if compared with Kalimpong town. So one can easily make Algarah its base. How to reach: Take a share jeep from Kalimpong bus stand and u r there in Algarah within 30mins. Zambala: This a fantabulous hotel with superb view of the surroundings...hills. The clouds are almost waiting to get into ur room once u open the window(at least during the monsoon). The rooms are all wooden-walled,wooden-floored & are well decorated. The attic room or the Zambala nest is the "Dream Room" here(specially if u r a couple...esssspecially the honeymoon ones). That gives u a different feel all to6gether. The owner is a very nice,modest,helpful person always eager to help you out. I believe this property is run by his own family. The food is also quite nice. I hope the guests will enjoy their stay in Zambala & won't have much scope to complain about.

The rooms are very good & clean. The food is also very tasty. You can also see sunset from the balcony of the guest house. The only problem is it is at 40 minutes distance from main Kalimpong. So, people who want to go to Pedong, Sillery Gaon, Ichcha Gaon etc this place is suitable for them to stay but people who want to only visit Kalimpong, it is not for them. But above all I will say one cannot find any hotel like this at main Kalimpong within this price. Overall it seemed very beneficial & quite nice for me to stay at this guest house.

Algarha is a small village which is around 14 km from the Kalimpong town and well connected. But the view and beauty beats even the most popular destinations. Cherry on the cake was the stay at Zambala. Loved the nature of the hosts, Mrs and Mr. Tshering Bhutia. Loved the Food, rooms, Birdwatching for which they provide binoculars for free and guidance to various places and viewpoints. All Facilities such as TV, Geyser, Wifi and Well maintained rooms are there. They asked me what I wanted to eat and prepared the same. Being a solo traveler, I was worried about the cost but the 3 course meal cost me 330 only. If you're around, take out a day or two and visit this beautiful place in raw nature and stay here.
