YMCA Tourist Hostel - Backpacker Hostel in Shimla - Shimla, India

YMCA is situated at an exquisite sight near mall road , the view is amazing. It provides a hall for various activities. You can come here to dance as it has it own dance academy , to take part in cultural events and more . You must visit here for great view and to enroll yourself in various academies.

Located behind the church. Very close to the mall road area but reaching there would be little difficult. You may have to climb up 3-4 stories of height but the sunset and the city view is worth for your efforts. I had one of the best sunset from here.. This building is one of the heritage buildings of shimla. They have dormitory and rooms(no attached toilet). Room has a fire place as well. Hot water facility available upto 9 in the morning. Very simple complimentary breakfast served with a great tea..

It is a good hostel for solo travelers or backpackers. There are two types of accommodation, rooms with common washrooms (Rs 800/day) and rooms with attached washrooms. Morning breakfast is included. There is not lift and you need to climb a FEW steps. The staff is helpful. There a lot of monkeys so please keep the windows closed when you are not in the room. As the building is old there is only one plug point in the room ( travel with an extension).

I booked for 2 nights and after first night I had a emergency back home I wanted to cancel the remaining Day and get refund for the leftover night. I just informed them and without any hesitation or saying something simply they refunded the amount. Location is very good walking distance of 4-5 minutes to mall road and other major localities also staff is very friendly. Remember this is a budget hotel no toiletries no towel or soap. Room included one double bed queen size with sufficient blankets to keep u warm, one jug and 2 glasses for water, one table, one chair, and small mirror, bathrooms are shared and decently cleaned, hot water is provided from 7 pm till 9 am.., single occupancy is 600 ,double 800 and 500 per extra person, staff is really friendly and view covers almost complete shimla.., worth visiting

Really lovely hostel with helpful staff and very good location. Nice to have lots of common spaces like the dining room, living room and terraces outside. Comfortable and big bedrooms. Shared bathrooms are nice and clean, though I think it would be nice if some soap was provided at the sinks. I kept forgetting to take mine with me then couldn't wash my hands properly! It would be inexpensive and a nice hospitable touch! Breakfast is included - tea, toast, butter and your voice of eggs or veg cutlet, or you can have cornflakes and milk instead - basic and minimal. One day there was a large group staying and we got poori instead which was so much nicer than the normal breakfast! Not sure how often that happens though! Accomodation is expensive in Shimla and YMCA is 1300 for a double room. There is cheaper around so not the best if you're on a tight budget, but it's still on the low end for Shimla prices.

Best budget hostel in Shimla. Good view, clean place, many toilet and wash rooms, kind crews. But you need to bring your own towel, soap, and there is only one plug in a room. Beware of these.

The hotel is very nice. It also includes complementary breakfast. The room gives a pretty vintage look. Service is good and everything is well maintained. You can see all of shimla from here. It is very well located

They have shared washrooms in the hotel. They are not good for couples and for families.
