Amazingly walk up to this historic fort. Got a little lost on the way but lots of friendly people pointed us in the correct direction. Fantastic views from here. Saw plenty of hawks as well flying around.
There were a total of 11 forts on the islands of Mumbai. Among them, the British built "Worli Fort" on a small hill on the mainland of Worli Island. This fort was used to monitor and protect sea trade. The headland of Worli, the fort of Mahim and the fort of Bandra come together to form a shape similar to the English letter 'U'. The sea here is always calm due to the natural indentation at this place. Therefore, in this area, there is a big problem of small boats, ships, and boats This fort, located on the hill of Worli, has been recently renovated by the Department of Archaeology. So the fort is in good condition. After entering the fort through a small gate, there is a small bell tower at the top of the gate. There is a water well in the fort and next to it is a small temple and a gymnasium. A stairway is built to reach the fort's shore. You can go to the fortifications of the fort by this staircase. From the fortifications of the fort, the region up to Bandra, Mahim comes into view. Even outside the fort After getting off at the last stop of the BEST bus from Dadar to Worli Koliwada (169;118,56), we reach this fort after a 10-minute walk through the fisherman's colony. Since the fort is small and self-contained, it can be seen in half an hour.
Nestled amidst the bustling metropolis of Mumbai, Worli Fort stands tall as a testament to the city's rich historical past. This ancient fort, dating back to the 17th century, is a captivating destination that offers an oasis of tranquility amid the urban chaos. Worli Fort's imposing stone walls and bastions transport visitors to an era when Mumbai was a cluster of islands, and maritime trade flourished. As I wandered through the fort's corridors, I marveled at the architecture and the strategic location that once safeguarded the city from invaders. The panoramic view of the Arabian Sea from the ramparts adds to the fort's allure, making it a photographer's delight. The fort's restoration efforts have been commendable, preserving its grandeur for future generations. However, the lack of adequate information on-site could be improved to enhance the overall visitor experience. Worli Fort offers a peaceful retreat from the city's cacophony, making it an ideal spot for solitude seekers and history enthusiasts. The adjacent Worli Sea Face promenade provides a picturesque stroll along the coastline, making the visit even more worthwhile. In conclusion, Worli Fort is a hidden gem in Mumbai that offers a captivating glimpse into the city's historical roots. Whether you are a history buff, a curious traveler, or simply seeking a moment of respite, a visit to Worli Fort promises a delightful and enriching experience. *Review by AI

Located deep within Worli Koliwada, Worli Fort is a great location to sit and watch the boats and the waves. Having repurposed the lower floor as a gym, the upper viewing deck is still open for the public to enter. Beautiful sights and a decent place for a visit.
