This is my first experience in a hostel but believe me it was worth. I cant say much in words but in 3 days i already felt as if i belong to the community and i made great friends for life and the guy who manages the place 'anuj'. He is just awesome. Call him before you book he ll guide you and the akka who cooks is also awesome. I guess you will have an experience of a lifetime than just staying.
One of the best stays at very much reasonable price in auroville pondicherry, owner is very good and friendly person, there is cafe also in rooftop, price is reasonable and every food is very much tasty. Rooms are clean ac is working fine and bathroom space is also big. We enjoyed a lot in night party in rooftop and made so many new friends in just one day.
My experience was really good, I didn't expect so much. It didn't feel like I was staying away from home. They have big rooms. The most important thing is that the rooms and toilets are clean. The Bhai (host) is very friendly, he will help you with everything you need. The hostel area is calm and peaceful surrounded by greenery. They also provide you food if needed. Food quality and taste is good.
Loved how the space carried such positive energies. There were morning yoga sessions initiated by Valentine which was the best start of the day. Space was averagely clean, if you have habit of staying in the hostels then you can manage. The terrace has common space and a kitchen where Akka cooks delicious meals. Nirupam, Sai and Anuj are mostly there in the hostel to help with anything you might need in auroville. I was travelling solo for the first time and ended up making so many friends from Woodpacker.
It was my first solo trip and the host made me feel like home at this place. The location is lovely. I will definitely visit again.
First of all this place is very remote, roads are not good. Very shaby place. Not suitable for decent people or family. You ll find intoxicated people or Drug peddlers. No lock and keys for dorms or rooms. Owner is rude and totally unprofessional goon. Food stored in the fridge is stale and stinky. No hot water or proper reception. Very unorganised. there is dog kennel near to the place which is very disturbing. I have heard the people who run have criminal records. Go there only to risk your peace of mind or safety.
I just have to say amazing stay. The people we met in the hostel were just amazing. Anuj and sai from woodpackers ensured everything was safe and well taken care of. The staff were super helpful. Would definitely book a stay again
We indeed had a safe and wonderful stay here at woodpacker hostel and I'd highly recommend it to those who are traveling along with friends or solo to explore pondy/Aurovile
