Woodland Hospital - Private hospital in Shillong - East Khasi Hills, India

Dear Woodland Hospital, I am writing to share some constructive feedback about my recent experience at your facility. While I understand the challenges faced by any healthcare institution, I believe there are areas where improvements can be made to enhance the overall patient experience. Firstly, I would like to bring to your attention the issue of restricted visiting hours and attendant privileges. It has come to my notice that the hospital does not provide the standard two attendant passes where one attendant is allowed to stay overnight in a deluxe/private room and the other baring the second pass can visit upon requirement. Instead, your policy allows only one attendant to stay along with the patient with no option to get help when needed in non-visiting hours which is not only inhumane but absurd. This practice contrasts with the common protocol followed by many hospitals nationwide. I recommend reconsidering this policy and adopting a more accommodating approach for patients and their attendants. Additionally, I would like to address the behavior of the security personnel. There have been instances where the security staff, albeit following their protocol diligently, have demonstrated a lack of empathy and understanding towards the visitors. It is crucial to train the security personnel to handle situations with empathy and discretion, considering the stressful circumstances under which many families visit the hospital. Furthermore, I would like to highlight the importance of fostering a more compassionate environment among the nursing staff. While I acknowledge the demanding nature of their job, it is essential for them to communicate and engage with patients and attendants in a more empathetic manner. A little empathy and kindness can significantly improve the overall patient experience during their stay. I strongly believe that hospitals should be a place of healing and comfort, especially for those in distress. Therefore, I urge you to consider these suggestions seriously to ensure a more hospitable and caring environment for your patients and their attendants. Ratings -2.6 and this hospital doesn't even deserve 2 . The doctors are still fine but some nurse and the people at the reception literally don't have any etiquettes. They said a bed is available in private ward but they made a patient wait for 4 hours who had 104degF and their response was so rude when we asked them even the doctor in emergency ward who was doing the night shift was so rude. I would especially like to talk about the girl in reception she is so rude,arrogant and egoistic these people should firstly learn basics and they need to check their tone. Prioritising people in power and ignoring the rest will do you no good you're getting paid for your work, the rich, the middle class and even the poor people pay you for your work so you need to behave.

One of the best hospitals in Shillong. Hence. There is always a long queue and waiting. It takes a lot of time to see a doctor but doctors and their treatment are good.

Ward no 300 was the worst ward I have encountered. My experience in Woodland hospital was very bad. I am okay with everything that the hospital provided but one of the nurse in nightshift was very rude of full of attitude, she thinks she's the boss and we came here because we have nowhere else to go. I seriously want to make an official complaint against her. I'm editing my review because I'm currently in this hospital the night duty nurses have becoming more and more rude, when my baby was sleeping one of the incharge nurse was shouting and playing with another in my semi bed. I request the owner of the hospital should keep on check because these kind of nurses will ruin the reputation of this hospital.

We paid for private room so that we can feel at home..but 'No' the security guard shout at me to leave or else he will call the incharge..tell me who ever incharge this hospital what for we pay for private room?? There's no different between private room and semi private room accept the rate.. Poor management..i think the owner of this hospital should change the in-charge... it's been more than 3years there's nothing change the same review every month. Shame to the owner of this hospital if he/she knows what their staff doing horrible things to the patients

Pros: 1. Credit facility available for IPD 2. Medicines are brought to the room 3. In-house canteen available 4. Treatment is awesome Cons: 1. Dietary charges are exorbitant. 2. Billing process takes time. 3. Doctors' fees are same for OPD and IPD

A medicine specialist Dr Barman of Woodland hospital why it has to be so hard to get an appointment with this Doctor and special booking is separately made, by reporting at the hospital by 4 am then there's a chance you will the ticket, my husband reached the hospital by 5.40am, there was no ticket left, firstly why issue a ticket so early and limited, attendants or any relative's coming that early of the morning will itself fall ill waiting there, and wondering of people coming from far places or villages, the fail management or is there anything beyond what our ears could hear. Dr Indrani being a senior renowned doctor of the same hospital can be easily reached out to atleast you don't have to get up so early and still not get a ticket. I fail to understand this and why?

Management in this hospital should really look into this issue. There is only one consulting Paediatrician which is, Pankaj Jain. Again an incident happened this past week where this doctor Pankaj Jain again seems to give incorrect information to patients and it seems the Management in this Hospital trusts him so much because he brings a lot of money to the hospital. This should be highlighted to the Doctor's Association of Meghalaya/Shillong and the Health Department that this hospital has only one consulting Paediatrician whose say is final and parents are taken for a ride where he uses jargons and scare them who then inturn would just depend on him for their child's consultation and pay his consultation fees which again is extremely high. This practice should be stopped immediately and this Hospital being one of the main ones in the city should have at least 2 or 3 more Paediatricians who will have the same authority as this Dr. Pankaj Jain so at least parents have hope and have to depend only on this doctor when they visit Woodland Hospital. #GovernmentOfMeghalaya,#AmpreenLyngdoh#ConradSangma.
