A hotel? A resort? Or a homestay? Well, like me, you'll also be confused when you stay a night in the Windsongs. It has the luxury like a star graded hotel. It's spacious and decorated like a resort. And the ambience is like a home. The owners, who themselves are very generous, cordial and friendly, love to call it a luxury homestay but to us it's all three in one. Situated a couple of kms before you reach Kalimpong town and just off to the main road called the Rishi Road, this property offers you pure bliss of nature. Previously a nursery for the orchids and one of the famous in Kalimpong, now boasts 4 cottages and 2 deluxe rooms for at least 6 families of different sizes. All have wonderful views of mount Kanchanjungha and river Teesta in a single frame and of course the entire hills of Kalimpong and a few of Sikkim are visible in a sunny day. They don't allow outside food but I bet, you hardly need any as they cook at their home so well. The choices are varied but we could savour only a few of their Chinese delicacies. Believe me, all tasted equally good. Our breakfast, though, was complementary and we chose the continental option which included choices of eggs along with bread, jam, butter and sausages with baked onions and tomatoes. You can also have our own desi puri-sabji as well. Tea or coffee of your choice in the end. As you stay, you will find the owners visiting you and sharing stories of their properties mostly of their cherished nursery. You'll know more about Kalimpong and its rich history. This was the best part of this property.
Its just an out of the world property with fantastic location and nicely landscaped gardens. If one wants to hv a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere to spend few days for relaxation....then thus is the place for you. Cottages are very spacious and well furnished with great view. One can just seat in the cottage portico or in the well laid out Sit-outs to enjoy breakfast or for spending evening with great view of teesta flowing at a distance. Food is ok and hosts are quite cooperative. Service people are very courteous and prompt . In kalimpong, this is the place....no doubt about that.
Splendid place to stay in peace. The entrance is on the main road but the rooms & cottages are in tranquility. Excellent behaviour. Nice suggestions of places to look around and good restaurants around Kalimpong.
It's going to be my THE recommended stay if in Kalimpong. The host is super helpful, rooms can comfortably accommodate 2 people, they're well maintained, the food is great, the property is vast and you get good view of Kanchenjunga (if not covered with clouds) from almost every place in this property. So it's the one.
I stayed with my family for two nights. Cottage room has awesome view, just can't explain in words. Rooms are clean. Dining space is mainly nicely decorated with a excellent view of mountains. Foods are also very good. Overall it was a nice stay here. We will definitely come again.

This is one of the most extraordinary home-stays with all the stunning views, the valley, the city shining at a distant top will help you fall in love with this place.
