Windamere hotel is a Heritage and, the plantation suite offered a glimpse into the old days of the British Raj. The testimonials of the previous guests are proof that then and now despite the challenges, the hotel has evolved admirably. We had the breakfast included with our suite and, it was very tasty and cooked to perfection. A very big thanks to the housekeeping team for placing hot water bags underneath the blankets every night before bedtime. And also a kind thanks to their MD Elizabeth for her amiable hospitality and keen attention to the guests. We were able to connect more deeply as a family and understand each other more in such a serene, calm setting.

Solution? Buckets of water provided by staff. * Hot water scheduling: Hot water is only available for an hour, plan your showers wisely! * Water rationing: You get two 500ml water bottles a day. Thirsty? You'll need a plan B. * Race-against-time breakfast: Breakfast is only served from 9 to 9:30 AM. So, it's a speed eating competition every morning. * After 10 PM desertion: After this hour, staff disappear, leaving guests to manage on their own. In conclusion, Windamere Hotel may have the British colonial heritage, but they've taken it a bit too far, including the outdated plumbing and the feeling of being a second-class citizen in an empire that's supposed to be a luxury hotel.

Hotel is good but it's overpriced. Washroom is not upto mark with issues in hotwater flow. Breakfast options is limited and Services is Okay. On enquiring i came to know same view hotel anyone can get in range of 4-5k/night and can save 15-20k/night.

Great service, horrible logistics. Do not rely on them for anything related to travel. Missed our train and had to take a 9hr bus because of their lax timing. On a separate occasion, we had to spend a whole day in gov't offices because they instructed their driver to skip the border office. On top of this, they offered a a discount as an apology but when I looked at the bill during checkout, there was no discount. To top it off, they brought me the same driver who ate my food lol. You couldn't write a funnier story.

Not value for money at all, food is nasty, it's like you are eating in a jail with a fixed menu of limited options for which they charge exorbitantly like 2300-2400 per person, breakfast is like you are getting your tiffin box meal for school I booked for 3 days but checked out after day 2

Zero Service Quality Zero Food Quality Rooms are not comfortable at all 5ft hi rise bathtub is there with small geyser so it's totally useless + it's difficult to get in and get out I got it in 6k still I will say it's a bad choice

Absolutely fabulous experience! Interior decoration, landscaping, heritage feeling, food, drinks, stuff behaviour - everything is flawless!! Highly recommended for a colonial time experience!!!!

This is not a hotel this is a time machine, it will just transport you back to about 200 years and give a good glimpse of the British Raj era. Every aspect of the hotel is conserved and protected against time. History speaks through every inch of this hotel. Nestled on the chaotic Mal Road this hotel still provides you with the serenity you desire. One, of the most spectacular experience in the hotel is their candle light dinner, they have a fixed menu and the menu changed everyday, the taste of the food is truly exquisite, one of the best in Darjeeling if I may say so and desserts here are nothing like it. If you want to truly experience the culture and heritage of the Darjeeling hills. This is the hotel to stay in. It is truly a destination in itself.
