Willingdon Island Boat Jetty - Ferry terminal in Kochi - Ernakulam, India

The place offers public boat service to Fortcochin, Ernakulam and Vypin. It very affordable with a wonderful view. I take my friends and folks who comes here to visit Kerala through boat rides so that they get the amazing view along with which it saves a lot of time being stuck in the traffic. The Boat Jetty at W.Island has a spectacular view as well which is very calm and quiet . The place also serves as the boarding point to Cruises and Ships to Lakshadweep .

This jetty is situated near the Samudrika cruise facility, facing the Mattancherry area. This is NOT the more popular Embarkation Jetty that's facing the Ernakulam/Marine Drive side that most passengers and visitors get to see. Many photos posted and reviews written here are for the Embarkation Jetty which is located adjacent to the Port Guest House. This jetty is being reconstructed right now and hence has no service. So, all services are handled by and boats diverted to the other jetty (Emb) temporarily.

This the official jetty/port for Wellington Island. Kerela transport speed boat runs every 30 mins or so. One can come from Fort Kochi area to here and then can go to next stop at Marine Drive. We visited this route as tourist in Nov 2021. They have introduced new boats. All clean and very much comfortable. A lot of locals use it to go from one island to another. Fare is the best part. Costed 6Rs from Fort kochi to Wellington Island Jetty. A 5 min walk from Getty gets you to Taj Malabar hotel and other offices there on Wellington Island.

Interesting place to spend with children. The boats are being operated through the co-operative society. We can hire boats according to our needs. They are quite co-operative. The nearby temple + The French museum is a place worth visit.
