Wild and Free - Farmstay in Ooty - The Nilgiris, India

People who admire nature for what it is, this place is luxury for them. This place has all my heart, the view and the valley chillness runs down the spine. The stone house is simple, cute and gives you nostalgic feeling if you are from country side. The home cooked food is limited, yet tasty which is provided with lots of love by aunty. There is so much of effort by uncle and aunty (owner's parents live there), who takes care of the guests like their own. They just make u feel that you are home away home. Very simple stay, and minimal availability of resources. This is add on to live few days of life with minimal resources and yet to satisfaction. Beautiful off-roading experience to reach the stay is one good experience to carry from Ooty. Go to this place, if only you are minimalist.

I recently had the pleasure of camping in the heart of the forest for two days and it was an experience I'll never forget. The natural beauty of the forest is truly breathtaking, and the rain that fell all night made me feel like I was in my own little slice of heaven. The sounds of the forest at night were soothing and peaceful, and the fresh air was invigorating. The campsite itself was well-maintained and had all the amenities I needed. I highly recommend this camping experience to anyone looking to connect with nature and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Absolute amazing experience, very calm and peaceful environment away from hustle and bustle of ooty town. Pros:- 1. Peaceful environment 2. Amazing hospitality 3. Indore games (carrom,chess etc) 4. Everyday bonfire 5. Great food (unlimited) 6. Option of both farmhouse and tent stay. Cons:- 1. Nothing as such perfect place to refresh yourself. Just the cost of staying could be little less. (It's 2k per night per person including everything, though you can negotiate we got it for 1.75k)

Wild and free - gives us a wonderful experience that lives up to its name. Nobody to disturb. We were given a warm cozy cottage as the tent was too cold in Dec. The elderly couple who took care of us were the property owners. Their hospitality was too good. My 8 year old daughter loves and recalls the libia (?) tea made by Aunty even today after 4 months of our visit there. The thrill begins from the off road you take to reach the property. Can hear the sound of stream running nearby . They have a great flowers, fruit and veggies garden which you can enjoy watching. They were generous enough to pass some freshly plucked veggies. Uncle and aunty did their best to take care of us as their helper had to take an emergency leave. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and next time looking forward to sleep in tents. According to me there is literally nothing else to do in the property except to enjoy the weather amidst the chirps and sound of flowing water with your loved ones. doddabettah is closeby.

You can experience ooty as it should be experienced..here. Most welcoming and generous hosts, great stay, greater food, greatest wilderness. Serene, beautiful, tranquil, placid......running out of adjectives to describe the place.

Definitely a best choice for nature lovers # It's the place where u can feel close to nature. After a long search i got this place. A beautiful morning sunrise with bird chirping and stary sky at night makes awesome # u don't want to go out to Ooty main , u can simply go for walk there itself u can see variety of plants and trees like apple , peach , pear , tree tomato, fig , rosemary, sage . U can reach Ooty main in 20mins (6km). I really feel very pleasant and calm. They provided morning tiffin idly & bread and for dinner rice , rasam , chicken curry , pepper chicken and chapathi. Food was awesome # they gave good hospitality. Evening bonfire was warning and good .

Very quiet aesthetic place for night camping and bonfire. The host was a great guy and knew a lot about the good places. The Tent was also very well maintained and blankets and pillows were also provided. The Food was also very tasty with a tint of the local flavours.

Experience the true rustic hospitality in a commoners home in the midst of tea plantations and farm. The caretaker is very courteous and friendly and made the stay a memorable one for a long time.
