West Bengal Forest School's Museum - Museum in Kurseong, Bara Shibkhola Forest - Darjeeling, India

Another completely neglected place in Kurseong. This museum is in dire need of a lot of renovation efforts. It contains many local fossils, tree barks, animal skins, etc.

The museum is at Dowhill in Kurseong. The museum is surrounded by dense forest. The are is very beautiful and peaceful. There is a boarding school of West Bengal Govt. for the forest office employee children. The museum is 2 storied. The museum is not very big and it is full of local fossils of local animals, different types of tree woods, photos of local developments etc. No ticket is required to enter there. We went there during sight seen of Kurseong. It is near Kurseong Deer park. The museum is closed on holidays.

The place is very calm. Museum have various things related to forest.

It remains closed always... Neglected by the administration.

very beautiful place on dowhill kurseong, West Bengal, there is a bsf camp which is a great picnic spot

Very interesting collection of various types of woods, tree trunks, seeds, stuffed animals and birds and animal hides. Pictures are fading, require upgrade.

Awesome place. Must visit if u plan to visit dowhill. No Need to spend money as visiting ticket. Be aware of visiting hours.
