Wei Sawdong Falls - Featured Reviews (3895)
This was my second visit to Wei Sawdong falls today, but sadly this falls has been closed by the local police due to some land disputes, that the local passersby informed. This is a breath taking piece of nature, where the water cascades over four layers and totally enchants you.
This is one of the best waterfalls I have experienced so far! Its beauty is on a different level. The camera lens can't do justice to the view. The water was so clean and cold. We sat there for a good amount of time and didn't feel like leaving. The important thing to know here is, the trek to reach this waterfall is not tough but it's very tiring especially while coming back. It surely takes effort to be able to experience this mesmerising beauty. The stones are slippery, so please be careful when you are at the waterfall. Enjoy responsibly and please do not litter!
A must visit place in Meghalaya. You can experience another level of scenery here. The waterfall is that much good. We need to trek for 10 minutes to reach the falls. It will be slightly dangerous, but everyone can trek down and trek up. Before reaching the falls, there is a view point of the falls. Don't forget to go there. After reaching the falls, you can swim in the fresh water. Rest well. Mostly crowded on weekends. The best time to visit is after August. Parking space is there. Ticket of Rs20 for bikes, Rs30 for light four wheelers and Rs50 for heavy vehicles. No entrance fee but you can put some donations for the cleaning process on the premises.
The falls are located in a valley. It is quite a difficult trek to the falls from the main road. It is a small distance, but very steep. One can easily make it to the falls view point. After the view point the path turns into wooden ladders which you have to go down to reach the water. The waterfall is a breathtaking creation. It is a must visit if you are visiting Cherrapunji. People are allowed to bathe provided the water level is not too dangerous. (People are not permitted to trek beyond the view point in monsoon.)
If you missed this, u haven't still fully seen shillong. To get the full view of the fall, don't go down just stop at the view point. Then proceed down. It's close to sohra. Needs to walk 10 min trekking and highly recommended to safely walk. there are small shops for eating Maggi snacks.
One of the mesmerising waterfalls of meghalaya!! You will be stunned seeing the view of this three layered falls. When I reached this place the water wasn't clear since it had rained a day before, if there is no rain then the water will be crystal clear and blue. But this view also has it own beauty. You have to trek down to reach this falls Must must must visit place in Cherrapunji , Meghalaya
Running out of words to detail out the waterfall in Cherrapunji. It is waterfall in Cherrapunji. And definitely picture does not do any justices Probably the first layered waterfall I have witnessed. We visited it almost at the end of the trip by then we were completely exhausted after the double decker trek. But the tour guide was insisting it worth it . So trusted him As said it was worth and one of the unique waterfall I have seen . Meghalaya and Cherrapunji is very much under rated place.
Very beautiful waterfall in Meghalaya with three layers of ponds filled with water of which 2 are within the reach of people to get into the water. You must climb down a stair trek which would take around 20-25 minutes to reach the downmost pond where most people enjoy. However if you are young and up for adventure, highly recommended to climb up to the second layer of the waterfall pond as you can enjoy much more in the water here as very few climb up. Totally worth it.
This is the most beautiful trek in Meghalaya. Trust me it's 13 km trek and you should be fit to do it as it takes a lot of energy. The view directs starting with double decker living bridge then a live swimming pool and then this view of rainbow wate
The layered Lyngksiar surging and plunging down the rocks through the green valley was as picture-perfect as you can imagine. This waterfall has two views, one at the mouth and the other at the bottom. Lyngksiar was just too beautiful for words. I co
