A temple with distinct Thai style. Beautiful and colourful statues. Calm place
The name is pronounced 'Makut' which is the Thai pronunciation of the word 'Magadhi', so it's name should actually be 'Wat Thai Makut.' Even the monastery plaquard is wrong, the place is a bit muttha'ssati.
Temple under construction. Only guest house is there for Thai.
Thai Monastery or Buddhist Temple at Bodh Gaya was built in 1956 by Thailand Monarch at request of Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to strengthen relations between the two countries. It is a unique and the only Thai Temple in India. This temple displays the elegance of Thai architecture. The Thai Temple is adorned with sloping and curved roof which is covered with golden tiles. The exterior is exquisite and is not to be missed. The temple stands facing the main road, next to the tourist bungalow. The temple houses a beautifully carved gigantic bronze statue of Lord Buddha. The atmosphere inside the sanctum is serene and silence falls on the ears upon entry into the monastery. A 25 meter high statue of Buddha has been recently built in the garden near the Wat Thai Temple
Beautiful architecture... Loved the place.
Wat Thai Magadh Buddhist Vipassana Center is wide and covered by greenery within temple boundaries. Front and right side of the temple is village and other side is agriculture field.

Recently, I visited the Bodhgaya temple in Gaya city. I traveled from Tatanagar to Gaya and finally reached Bodhgaya to visit the Mahabodhi temple, where Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment. It was a remarkable experience. I had the opportunity to
Suggestion: Do make a visit during early sunrise or during Sunset. As the view will be magnificent during those durations. Overall the place was very easy to reach, located on the Main Road.

My favourite place in Bihar next to Rajgir. Immense peace is prevalent here. Budhha got enlightenment here. One must visit this during lifetime. I like Budhha because he was atheist and opposed idolatry and theism.
Buddhist Monks in the Bodhgaya area participate in the "Patrikhamokkha" every full moon day at this place. This monastery is near to the Mahabodhi Mahavihara.
Beautiful and well maintained place. The entire Bodh Gaya is dedicated to Buddha and the area is peaceful and all temples are nearby each other. This one in specific is well maintained and beautifully decorated.
Can anyone please share the Monastery's contact details? I cannot find the correct number and email address, everything I had previously is not working. I think they might have changed their number/email/website. Thanks
