Stayed here for almost 3 years. Very nice place. Made great friends and enjoyed the hostel life here.
I don't know what discrimination with boys...... letting them stay in a so called hostel which is a formar jail.......small room ,poor electricity connection, dont get me started with hygiene.
As much I am emotionally attached to it, I can say it as a holder of the absolute aesthetic side of North Kolkata, a reflective of that traditional architecture combined with a fresh ambience. For those intending to stay here, the rooms are absolutely the best. Single rooms are available for the utmost comfort of the students. The bathplace can be regarded as one of a traditional communal area, where there is one, there are sharing of emotions and which inculcates the brotherhood and bonding amongst other hostellers .

The rooms are single, no sharing. Big enough for a single student. Though old building but well maintained.
This hostel is the worst hostel of SCC. The seniors are very rude to their juniors. And I am 100 percent sure that you will face ragging from the first day. They Won't let you study. They Will disturb you and they will try to distract you from your concentration. Bad environment and very bad culture. Even very bad food served here that is not good for health.
