Typical example of overhyped places. Haven't had such tasteless pickles in my life. Both veg and non veg pickles are so bad that you will wonder if it was worth taking a detour from the highway for this. Can visit if you have never had a meat pickle but not otherwise.
First of all there are many walia pickles and one gets confused where to go. All these are side by side in place called Deli, Sector 6, Parwanoo. It's about one kilometer inside from the main Chandigarh Shimla highway towards Parwanoo. My experience is that you cannot preserve chicken and mutton pickle for more than one day. It gets very hard and difficult to eat. So if you purchase non veg pickle consume it the same day. For me the experience was not very encouraging but otherwise no major issues. Enjoy
I got to know about Walia pickles through a road show hosted by Rocky and Mayur and ever since I was tempted to visit and taste the various pickles that is on offer. The owner Mrs. Suman Walia, is an extremely soft spoken and polite woman and their shop is indeed the oldest and in fact the original one amidst a score of shops bearing exactly the same name. I have tried Aam, Mushroom, lehsun, mixed and Amla pickle from a variety of different pickles which comprise both vegetarian and non vegetarian options, and among those, Mushroom is my favourite one. If you are ever on the way to parwanoo, do visit this quaint shop which doesn't compromise on taste and quality as all the pickles are fresh and appropriately spiced giving a unique touch to your palate.
You can taste Pickles before you buy it, I think their taste is different from others, I like some of the flavours like Gajar, Green Chilli etc. A good place to get Pickles.
Amazing experience with Aunty ji and Sonu. Water mouthing and delicious Chicken and Mutton Achar. There are many Walia's shop but this one is adjacent to Liquor shop.

We used to purchase chicken n mutton pickle every time we went uphill from Chd. This time too on our way back from Shimla we purchased chicken n mutton pickle.Unfortunately within 12 hours saw fungi in the pickle n had to trash the whole.

Going to this place since 20 years. They will serve you what we call cheap and best. Their noodles in chinese and malai kofta with butter naan is world best. Went there yesterday ( 21.05.2023) the food was still good but their service was level down!
