Vivanta Meghalaya, Shillong - Hotel in Shillong - East Khasi Hills, India

Overall, it definitely is a very nice hotel. It feels luxurious and elegant, rooms are great, no doubt about it. But I think a few details separate this hotel from the top level: - we arrived early and had to wait 2 hours until actual check-in. We were allowed to sit at the restaurant, but getting wifi was a bit of a hassle, and we were not offered any drink, any water, etc. Only 2 hours later, when we actually moved to the room, were we offered a welcome drink. - we asked for wine glasses in the room, and we had to wait for 40 minutes for someone to eventually pop up with... whisky glasses. - when looking closely, some spots or drips on some walls and doors suggest housekeeping is not as polished as it should be. A few things to improve, but overall it was a great stay!

This hotel is a disgrace for Taj. The rooms are very small. The hotel does not have swimming pool or Gym facilities but still they are charging a 5 star price. The food in the restaurant is pathetic with a very poor managed service. Location wise its very close to police bazaar but because of this it takes too much time to reach hotel as there is always heavy traffic. Please avoid this hotel if you want value for money in Shillong..

The hotel rooms were neat and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities. I was particularly impressed with the food they served here. The hotel's location is also great, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Shillong.

Incompetent staff. Lesser glasses placed on table. Chef was not aware what a crust means. Apple crumble was all soggy. We went to party and they ruined the whole vibe.

Good hotel. Situated at Police Bazar. Traffic is very high in that area. Well maintain property. Resturent is nice. Roof of the resturent is covered with white glass so that daylight can come and it reduce the use of electricity. Nice concept.

It's a great experience... the hotel opened Nov 22 but construction yet to complete like swimming pool and gymnasium yet haven't started but nice ambiance, rooms are dark green but even a clustofobic like me haven't had a problem. Stayed in their Suite but have seen a superior room 417 which too was GOOD. Breakfast lavishly apt... Only starting rate per night of INR 9000+ tax is high. But still it is Shillong most convenient place to stay if you're for business.

Being a gold member with Taj Inner Circle, I was told that my original room booking was upgraded on check-in I am pretty certain it wasn't. I will take it up with the management but in the meantime it takes away points on my Google review as this is not transparency that I expected.

This is a review for the Breakfast Buffet. It is fantastic. Kudos to the whole team. Everything except for maybe the bought-out baked desserts are delicately done and curated. Special mention for Linda, who was not only most courteous, but also recommended various off-beat places for us to visit in Meghalaya.
