Located on the top of Pasumalai hills, as a part of Taj's Gateway Hotel, this restaurant has an incredibally beautiful location. A beautiful garden in front provides a magnificent view of Madurai city, including the great Meenakshi temple. We had our breakfast and all meals during our two days stay in the Gateway hotel. Beautiful ambiance with old world charm decor, extremely courteous service with smile, and good food, including some delicious local dishes.
We were lucky to watch beautiful dance performances of peacocks in the garden.... more than once... it was an added bonus.

Went there for Saturday dinner. Very limited items for a buffet if you compare them with any bbq chain restaurants. But the quality and taste of food that was provided was really good.
Service wise noticed something in particular. The Manager is a North Indian guy and trends to cater and service only North Indian crowd in Madurai. They never cared about others. I was able to note this across the dining area. The only thing they approached us is to ask if we need any roti or naan. Even for cheque, we need to ask them.
Ambiance wise good. Outdoor seating is available but having a buffet in dining area and asking guest to take food outside is still a pain.

We loved our stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Pool, indoor and outdoor games are available. There are many peacocks , delight to watch. Definitely recomend this.
Taste is Good. We can get food at on time. Inside atmosphere also nice .Server Bhavani aunty also serving good . We are all enjoying to had dinner with buddies.

Food was too good. Kulcha & Butter chicken was lit. Naan & Tantoori chicken was real good. I'm not a big fan of basmati biriyani so no comments on it.
Overall a very tasty food
No ajinimoto, no added colours, no frozen meat. Also food is cooked in naturally prepared chekku oil which helps in easy digestion. A theme family restaurant with quality food.
