This is an isolated accommodation inside an academic institution. It is not maintained properly in recent days. Part of the place is used for student accommodation. So you can not expect privacy. Food is served in the guest house. But you have to place order in advance. We waited for some time (30 minutes) to check in as there was no one in the reception.
PhD and post doc students generally live here. You can book one room by contacting the hostel care taker for your family or friends who want to visit iiser
Needs professionalism on the part of staff managing the visitors hostel. Need to wait 20 minutes, till somebody who has the keys to turn up. Also one is asked to use back exit between 10 PM and 6 AM. For those who have early morning flights, this means a lot of drudgery. Was not told about the availability of electric kettle, tea bags. I could have had a hot tea at 4AM before I left for the airport, had I been informed.
The service provided by the staff contributed to a wonderful stay.
Simply awesome. It has almost all of the facilities in a room that one can require to stay, great design, good quality products, and a great location. You can even find peacocks/peahens roaming outside during the morning and evening, and peace all throughout the day and night.
The interior is not as good as the exterior. Corridors are particularly nasty with people drying clothes. The suit was okay - big and clean.
Very nice architecture, the suite rooms are spacious as well. A side of the room has glass widow making the views extraordinary. One of the best guest house within various research institutions in India.
Visiting the IISER campus is an additional booster to your lungs and this verdant campus with full of youthness , creativity, entrepreneurship. Visitor hostel is amazing to keep you attached with your work, meeting and a tones of memories. Food is good, staff is amazing...Overall 5 experience with an academic touch.
