Profoundly peaceful and powerful energy field. Must visit if you're looking to connect with Ramana's frequency on a deeper level. I meditated in silence for about 4 hours and felt a sense of awakening and peace that is hard to describe in words. Grateful for the opportunity to experience this in my lifetime.
In this cave bhagavan Ramana Maharshi spent 17 years doing meditation. Very peaceful place. Don't disturb the environment. Don't throw plastic while trekking to this holiest place. A small Trek from behind the temple will lead to this place.
This is another nicely maintained cave about half a KM from base. Initial path is little dirty but rest are well maintained. This place is best for meditation and a well trained guide available to guide the visitor and provide the history and importance of the place. This is a must visit place.

Climbing rocky pathway for about couple of kms lead to man made forest with 2 lakh trees and over the hill gives a beautiful city view. the cave on top of the hill provide absolute calmness in oneself and sitting there for few minutes brings in serenity in mind
Crowded now. But got some space to sit. Still feel a spiritual charge. Few visitors sit for a long time, though. Movement every few minutes. Surprisingly hot inside even in October. A guy wasted his entire time with noisy bhastrika and other pranayamas, instead of silent meditation. Usual set of beggars outside.
This place is very historical and no one knows when the rocks are formed in there. You'll find a very pleasant wheather and adventurous too. Make sure to visit them before 5:30pm. Else you'll disappoint. I'm attaching the pictures of the places nearby too one the same mountain. You can make use of them.
Didn't expect to go up there but I did. Great place for meditation. Neither ashram authority nor City has done anything to put up signs or to make both route safe. You must ask someone to find out how to get there. Part of the treck is steep. No sign even on the main road. Take plenty of water with you. Always start early and come back before sunset as there are no lights. Language is also a problem because most people speaks only Tamil. Ashram accommodation are better then expected. So is the food inside the ashram.
