The fort was quite nice and peacefull, no litter anywhere, and all the artifact's are maintained in a manner, you can explore many parts of fort inside and it just looks like so forbidden by its time.
It was nice when I went there and seen it has lack of cleaness and repaiment as it is oldest fort therefore should be better look for visiters
Rebellion against the British started in the fort of Vijayraghavgarh - The fort of Raja Saryuprasad, son of Raja Prayagdas of the princely state of Vijayraghavgarh, who played an important role in liberating the country from the shackles of British rule, still tells its story. In the revolution of 1857, this great warrior not only started a rebellion against the British, but he was the first person who shot the British commissioner. The world famous Vijayraghavgarh Fort, where its protective structure, carvings are worth seeing. Its construction, which began in 1826, was completed over several years. The specialty of this fort is that it is very safe from all sides. On two sides it is surrounded by rivers, on the third side a huge mountain is protecting it. The people who reach here, seeing its texture, press their fingers under their teeth. Apart from this, the temple of Raghav ji, the symbol of victory, the carving of Rangmahal, the size of the Raniwas, the artifact of the construction of the fort, the carving of the walls are worth seeing.
The best place to have small picnic. To have fun with friends and family good choice. It is best place for photoshoot. It doesn't have restrooms as it is historic place. It is very old place due to which some parts are damaged but beautiful with wall art done .
The fort is not properly maintained. Entry is free for all and closes at 5pm.
Vijayraghavgarh Fort (named after Lord Vijayraghav by King Prayagdas during 18 century) is fortified by river, hill, trench surrounding it, located near Kymore, Dist - Katni (M.P.). This small fort is a historical evidence of the revolt during 1857. The wall carvings & sculptures is worth mentioning. The banyan tree with human form look alike structure is worth visiting. The Tourism department & ASI should renovate & maintain the dilapidated Fort and bring out this historical significance to public more efficiently.
the fort is very poorly maintained..... few localiites come to visit. The fort have some great architecture and thus need proper maintainance..............
It would be a good place if locals have taken care of the fort. People had wrote there name and created symbols on the walls. Govt is renovating the fort which is good thing. Main thing to see is enormous tree having idols of God's on its roots.
