Road are not very good. Fort itself is in abysmal state. It's really old, all the more reasons to preserve the stories & anectodes associated with it and the fort itself. Government should really do something for the roads, fort and cleanliness to boost tourism and economy

Vijaygarh Fort, located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, has a rich historical legacy that dates back centuries. This fort is a testament to the region's storied past and its strategic significance. The history of Vijaygarh Fort is closely intertwined with the medieval era of India. It was built during the reign of the Chandela dynasty, which ruled over parts of North India from the 9th to the 13th centuries. The fort was strategically positioned to provide defense and control over the region. During various periods in history, Vijaygarh Fort witnessed changes of hands between different rulers, including the Chandelas, the Gahadavalas, and the Muslim rulers. These shifts in power are indicative of the turbulent times the region experienced. Today, the Vijaygarh Fort stands as a historical treasure, offering a glimpse into the architectural and military prowess of the past. Its rugged stone walls, imposing gates, and commanding views from its elevated position make it an intriguing site for history enthusiasts and tourists exploring the historical heritage of Uttar Pradesh.

Wonderful hidden gem. If only the roads were in better condition. What really made it special was the solar eclipse that took the day I visited and the timing couldn't have been any perfect, experienced the eclipse and sunset at the same time. Truly an experience for life.

Depicts a Marvellous and incredible History of India's rich heritage and culture.......it's a jewel of Sonbhadra District of Uttar Pradesh.... A Place full of peace and architectural excellence of India's Vedic culture...It's a major site of Tourism in UP but needs Archeological preservation.... Government should take strong steps to boost it's cultural values and preservation mechanism so that it will actively contribute towards great history of India.

Historic monument with a very beautiful view but not getting importance for its maintenance, government should take step to maintain and save it and the route to reach the fort is also not convenient, it can be popular as tourist attraction if it gets good treatment

Most of it is ruined. But it is a beautiful place to go. At this height you will feel great. You will be able to see beauty of nature from the height of Vijaygarh Fort. There are 7 ponds of different colours. I have heard that scientists had come there to calculate the depth of the pond but they were unable to find the depth of it. So, it's quite interesting place to visit. You can click very good pictures from up above the fort. You will be able to see monkeys and apes there. Just be careful and enjoy the moment.
