Wonderfully maintained and the the surrounding landscape adds up to the beauty of this historical place.
Victoria Memorial is one of the famous and beautiful monuments of Kolkata. It was built between 1906 and 1921 to commemorate Queen Victoria's 25-year reign in India. After the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857, the British government gathered the reins of control of the country directly, and in 1876 the British parliament made Victoria the Empress of India. Her reign ended with her death in 1901. Experience was great, the place has a beautiful museum and a large garden area to chill around. Hest time to visit is around afternoon and evening, and in winters and spring acc. To my p.o.v. ticket prices are cheap.
A nice place to hang out .the environment..the ambience.the sculpture..the lights..the cool breezes. I love it. I oftenly go there and find an another level of peace. You should visit it ..

The place is very beautiful... No doubt about that... Probably the most visited place in Kolkata... There's an entry fee of Rs. 20 if you only want to roam about the open area around the Monument... One piece of suggestion to the management... Please don't allow food to be taken inside... Neither the management should allow people to carry sporting kits inside... For people like us, It takes no time to turn such a beautiful place to a picnic spot... Rest everything is just immaculate.
