This place is located in coffee estates.. ambience is good. Uncle bassappa and Vicky are treating guests with lots of respect and importance. Food is awesome. Need to travel a bit to go for it. Campfire will be provided as optional (minimal amount has to be paid).
Awesome place, environment, people, food (stupendous), rooms and everything to the top notch. It was a office trip with 25 people. Campfire arrangements and music was great. You won't feel to go out of the villa. That much feel at home atmosphere. Great maintenance by Bhasappa Uncle and family.
This is awesome stay place. The place is located in middle of the farms ..u wd feel as if u r in middle of a forest. The food at the place was awesome had a delicious dinner and breakfast (totally homemade with great taste). they provided bonfire and snacks in the evening. The best thing was the price it was petty descent (1100 per head ). If u want alcohol please carry it with u ,there they can provide only wine (not always). The behavior of the people was really good at the place . Overall a very good place to stay if u visit Coorg or any near to the place.
Google shows this place on the main road, not the case, it's a 2.5 km ride through some rough roads, but once you get there it's superb. If you're coming there by bus, please take the KSRTC to Kattemadu or Murnad there's a bus stop right next to the google GPS marker, I was offered a pickup by uncle from the bus stop Its a huge bungalow, the family stays in one portion, you get to stay in the other. I love the personal touch that the family offers, its a family of 3, aunty makes simply delicious food, Basappa uncle is very helping. Vikas is the person I contacted to get here, he's very helping as well. We were served vegetarian food, ( we are vegetarian) cooked with their own produce, brinjals, bamboo shoots etc. It was simple but very tasty. They have their own produce of coffee, which they are packing in 1 KG packets at very reasonable pricing. I would recommend buying a pack ( this is my view, I'm not promoting them for any personal gain ) of home made filter coffee powder
awesome place to stay in coorg. little interior but nice to get relax t this place. it's in middle of the coffe estate. owner is nice guy and food is one of the best. they have so many pet dogs and various types of parrots and other pet birds.
Outside the usual crowded Madikeri stays. Reasonable rates food could have been better. Space for more than 15+ people so expect other people as well when you are on vacation. But if you plan to stay outside and no other group stays it's very good
Very large and neat homestay with authentic Coorgi food. They are very hospitable and nice people. It is in a coffee estate. You can go for a small walk to see a lake. It's a very beautiful place.
Stay - five star, private bungalow, no other building in sight, only tall trees, beautiful hillocks, nice plantations, only one bungalow - your bungalow, a huge private pond with fish. nice walk ways along their private plantation. Food - five star, authentic kannada food. I distinctly remember the breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rice plate idly, idhiappam, rice balls, with mouth watering sambar, mix vegetable gravy, chicken gravy twice on special request, rasam, all piping hot and homely!. Dont miss the food for anything! Nearby - We have not done much other than reach the place, rest a while, reach a stream of water as river was too full and risky, stay in water for four hours, come back, rest a while, partied into the night and got up and got going. Making a point to not miss the three meals of the day. two drives to local bakery/grocery shops 10km round trip on winding roads gave the panoramic COORG view. Small things which do matter a lot - * Pleasantly surprised to have Wifi facility. this takes care of any high tech dependent person! * Buy a packet of popcorn at a local bakery (local is 3km away ;) ) and throw handfuls in the pond for some action! * Warm and unbelievably nice Hosts (Basappaji and his small family) who ensured that we had food all the three times of the day inspite of us not willing to come out of the stream during lunch time, waking up late/or reaching the place late in the morning. Asking our meal preferences, taking us out to a grocery shop for smallest of things. Believe me, these small gestures signify amazing hospitality. * We missed bonfire in their huge garden due to rain but we dont regret it as the rain was powdery and the evening became extra pleasant (typical Coorg Monsoon, I was told). No qualms about that. * Sampled the unbelievable flavours of preserved local fruit in the form of fruit wine. Betel flavor (yes Betel leaf!), Passion fruit, Guava (red), Grape (standard). There was a fifth one which i forgot. Travel - We drove from Chennai-Bangalore-Mysore-Dubare-Vicky Niwas. Too much driving but the stay for one day there, was worth the 1300km round trip. Bangalore Mysore 100*2 speed breakers is the only thing which broke our heart and the Car's brake shoes! Better option for Chennai folks. Kauvery Express- Mysore-Volvo to Madikeri (2.5 hours)-Call Basappaji - Jeep ride to Vicky niwas in 30 mins. saves back, saves car, saves money as well :).
