VGP Golden Beach Resort - Resort hotel in Chennai - Chennai, India

Pros: Rooms are spacious and tidy. Large area to explore. Beach view. Lawn is well maintained. Cons: Food is terrible. Not much non veg option provided. Beds are smelly. Swimming pool is small and full of chlorine. Not allowed to beach after 8:00pm.

The good aspect of this resort is the private beach, huge lawn and calm environment. We stayed here for a day and the room was pretty decent and clean as well. Kids swimming pool is very small because of which kids can't enjoy swimming. Coming to food, its over priced but quality was ok. People can go near by veg restaurants to have a good meal/dinner. I personally feel that this resort it is not that worth of what we had paid.

After seeing too many mixed reviews, I was totally confused whether I should book this beach resort or not.. But finally we decided to take a risk of booking this resort... We didn't regret for that... Pros: If we are going with kids, then definitely a right place to spend.. They have indoor games, cycles etc., Lawns, beach and swimming pool are added advantage... Cons: Beach access is till 9pm but that's for our safety they claim.. Sea view rooms are very old.. Cost wise little bit costlier... Food cost is costly... Conclusion: Good for family with kids... Bachelor's I wouldn't think it would be worth for the stay..

The only good thing about the VGP resort is its well guarded private beach. I would strongly suggest you look for dining options outside of the resort as its kitchen services were very questionable ; Be it from receiving calls or delivering the right orders to the right room . The restaurant food quality was very low to the level of salt not being mixed evenly and absolutely no sugar in tea/coffee. If u want sugar you would have to make a call to the restaurant again. The room was good but we could enter our room after 2 hours of delay and the checkout process was another catastrophe! To sum it up, there are far better quality resorts with half the price than VGP resort !

Totally waste of money..I booked table for 5 for the final world cup streaming offer.. the particular event is poorly organised even though the table have to be priorly booked the items mentioned in the combo offer got over very soon and have said even the fruits have got over and all they have left is peanuts .. it felt like just for unlimited peanuts we paid 999 per person .. Im surprised that such big resort who have been here at chennai for ages have such poor planning and execution of a small event..there is no light also set up keeping in mind the match goes until 10pm and also there is only limited fans kept too .. i feel like even a small organisation might well have a better planing.. and about the waiters they are extremely slow and tge hospitality is very bad .. when we ask for something we paid money they are rude in answering and say everything is over ie even for fruits

We had a family get together for 20 ppl, and it was a lot of fun. We got 6 hours on the property, including indoor games, beach access. Food with starter drinks, snacks and coffee tea, with 3 course dinner. Definitely recommend! Thanks to George for helping us.

If you are going for a holiday and want a resort experience, then VGP is not your place. Very poorly maintained rooms. No food / no tasty food. Every employee there owns the resort, hence will treat you like a bell boy, you will never be a guest. I have seen even the front office doesn't look at you even if you are the only one standing and asking. Overall - your office is a better place than this resort.... lol

Sadly, if you reserved a room at this resort.Never place an inside order for food from them. Although expensive, the taste is below average. They don't even know how to make basic curd rice, which is highly surprising !!! We cannot even eat a spoonful of it. The receptionists are too negligent to address your problem. Even for 20rs water bottle they will charge you 40 rs +gst=48 !!! Kids should be especially cautious because there are many street dogs inside the resort. Overall High price with negligible Service. This Resort is everything what a resort should not be. Avoid it at all cost
