If you want to enjoy local wibe and to taste some traditional kerala non veg dishes, you can try this toddy shop. Toddy served there was not upto the mark. But the dishes were good. Must try pork dishes.

The dishes were below average, toddy was also not pure. Not family friendly, no AC ( on 25.06.2023), not clean, not enough light, rain water was leaking from the roof.

A usual "Kallushappu"(Toddy Shop) with unclean floor, dark and stinky rooms, rude staff?? ..... You will not find anything like this at Vettilappara Toddy Shop as the place is neatly kept with enough lighting, tile floor, neat furniture & kitchen and they have air-condition rooms too. Good for families too, you will find courteous staff who will guide you well with their services. What I mean is that if you order something, they will tell whether the dish is spicy, non spicy, live cooked, pre cooked etc etc. As usual, you find more spicy side dishes the "Toddy shop way." We tried rabbit fry, mutton and liver roast which were yummy. The negative I could point out was the lack of varieties in the main dish. They serve only kappa(tapioca). I suggest they introduce more items. Overall very good experience.

Tasty food. No doubts about it. I went with family for dinner, didn't feel like going in with them. Got take out and went back to hotel room. We tried Kada chilly, pork and beef.

This the one toddy shop on chalakudy to athirapilly i can say has the best toddy and tasty food. They have a bit more family friendly dining than the traditional toddy shops. And and yes there isn't alot of varieties like the traditional shapp, but they do manage to keep the same and good quality to the ones they have.
