Veluthambi Dalawa Memorial - History museum in Mannady - Pathanamthitta, India

Visit history here at the Veluthampi Dalawa Memorial. There is a tall statue of him near the entrance. The place where Veluthampi killed himself before getting caught by the British, is preserved here like a shrine. Apart from this, certain historic objects like palm leaf scripts , weaponry ,stone sculptures and paintings are exhibited though limited in number . There are guides available to provide assistance & information on the historical heritage of the place. There is a well maintained garden which adds to the grace of the place. Nice place to click selfies as well.Plus , you don't need tickets for entry.

A great place were Velu Thambi Dalava, Divan of Travencore, believed to be stayed his last days, killed by himself. The mannadi temple is nearby. Need more attention from government to enrich the museum. Now, one chithraVadha case is the one and only attraction of the place. Authorities put culprits in the case unto death.

Veluthampi Dalawa Memorial Museum at Mannadi is dedicated to the famous freedom fighter, Veluthampi Dalawa.He is said to have committed suicide inside the Mannadi Temple after his obstinate resistance against the British army. The Historical Museum at Mannadi started functioning from 14th February 2010. The memorial has been designed in such a way as to enlighten the posterity about the heroics of Veluthampi. A statue of Veluthampi Dalawa is erected in front of the museum.

The memorial consist of Statue and a small temple with Sword and small museum. Museum is closed on Monday.
