Har Har Mahadev Velliangiri Shiva Temple Velliangiri Shiva Temple in Coimbatore a city in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Lord Shiva is always considered as the God of Gods and he is also regarded as the representation of Supreme Being. In India, there were a lot of temples dedicated to the Lord Shiva, who is considered as the important deity of Hinduism. Here, we were about to know about the history of one of the most popular hill temples of the Lord Shiva and that is Velliangiri Temple. Har Har Mahadev Velliangiri is a place located in the Western Ghats of the western border of the district Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. The area at the foot of this hill Velliangiri is called as Poondi. There is a beautiful temple at this place Poondi, which is facing east with the shrines of Poondi Ganesha, Lord Velliangiri and the Goddess Manonmani. Recently, a 4 1/2 feet tall ivory statue of Nataraja and a statue of 63 Shiva Devotees were consecrated. Har Har Mahadev To the north of the temple is the Pancha Ganesha Mandapam with five Ganesha statues. Next is the zodiac pillar made of stone and this is something that cannot be found in any other temples. This structure looks like a fully bloomed lotus flower formed by stacking 9 lotus flowers on its central stalk. At the base of this fully bloomed lotus flower are the 12 zodiac signs neatly carved. At the top is an umbrella with a portrait of a beautiful bird on it. Har Har Mahadev Velliangiri hills temple travel is a very good experience and nature traveling with pure air and water in the underground stone hole with fresh and pure water taste is good where trekking of 7hills is tough to climb mostly 1hill is very vertical around 500 steps and almost upto 4hills are steps with vertical and slanted steps goes on forest area with climatic Har Har Mahadev scenario of hills top of every hill is no word to express u must try to feel once in a life beauty of this nature and trekking trip to travel along with nature reach end of 6th hill there is small pound to refresh it water in pound was so chill once u stepped in pound water and drowning is so chill then after u don't like to leave pound water is transparent and pure fresh water then after climbing last 7hill is very vertical without any steps mostly mud land with slanting to climb nearly 1:30 hours' reach top of Velliangiri hills firstly lord Ganesh is darshan it a and next under a cave mata Parvathi Devi is darshan. Har Har Mahadev TIMINGS :- Monday to Sunday Morning :- 06:00AM to 12:00PM Evening :- 04:00PM to 09:00PM Har Har Mahadev

The most satisfying devotional place. This temple is the source of all the goodness and devotions. Travel on the mountain is little hard to claim. But it's not impossible. First 4 temple we should go through the deep of the forest. And remaining 3 mountain are top of the Mount. So you can enjoy all the views. Everyone should visit the temple atleast once in our life.

My first ever visit and my second longest climb on mountains. I travelled all the way up the seven hills and got back after 16 hours. The time I took was longer as my friends delayed me by resting multiple times. It was goosebumps climb post the 4'th & 5'th hills with mother nature calming me down with cool Breeze and the spectacular view from above and below me. Appeared so close to me, mild drizzles and chillness all over me, I needed no greater ecstasy for smiling . Must try climb. Carry all necessaries with you, precisely more water and food, at the same time carry less stuffs to avoid over luggage obstructing your climb uphill.

Om namah shivaya . One of the famous and tallest hill temple in Tamilnadu. Located near to Siruvani Dam. From this temple, you can see the Siruvani Reservoir. Also you can see the dense forest and mountains. Excellent atmosphere. Bus available upto foothill. Bus destination name is Poondi. This bus available from Coimbatore Town bus stand at specific time only.

I feel myself blessed to be at this place. For people who like to track mountains, this place is best for them. Don't go on Saturday or Sunday due to a huge rush and please take water with you. Wear foot wears too as it is quit for bare foots to walk on hot sand and wear full sleeves for protecting yourself from Sun Tan.

After getting checked our bag and ourselves with the forest officers, we are allowed to enter the trekking point. We started our trekking in the night. In case you didn't buy a bamboo stick (30/-), immediately after you start your trek towards your right there is a huge pile of bamboo sticks which are other pilgrims used earlier. You can choose your own stick out of it and it's free of cost ( i recommend using this facility) because the same stick is refurbished to sell for 30/-. The first hill comprises steps of uneven height and arrangement. You'll feel like a never ending path in this mountain. The milestone for the 1st mountain is "pillayar Kovil" (Ganesha temple). Here lots of stores are available for eateries like soda, mango, jowar malt but no water is available. The second hill is vazhuku paarai. Initially there are few steps similar to the first hill but as it goes the steps are carved in the large stones itself. At the end of the second mountain also you find shops but no water. The 3rd, 4th and 5th hills comprise some flat land and steps. Though it is very hard to walk without the stick. The 6th mountain is steep down with a very hard path. It leads us to the small water source for bathing. The water here is too chill. we were here by 4 am in the morning. This stream of water is too dirty since so many people take baths. Since there is a water stream, many people used the path adjoining this stream as a washroom. One has to be careful during the Trek. The 7th hill is very steep atop. This is also a never ending hill. Finally reaching the top you can see huge rocks under which lord Shiva Linga is present. From the top the view is scenic, it is almost close to Kerala border, you can also see a dam. The sunrise is beautiful, you can see humans walking like an ant trail throughout the mountain. You'll feel peace and happiness after reaching here until you imagine getting down from here . Two or three saints will be there to perform pooja. You can have lord Shiva darshan. "Carry water, glucose, enough snacks packed in paper. Water is naturally available at some points in mountains which is pure and good. You can trek with or without shoes. Carry shawl, as you go, the temperature falls in the night." Finally reaching down is also equally tough. Be prepared and make your mindset positive. Night trekking is suggested because you will not have to see the path you're going to trek which makes you exhausted. This was the toughest and most adventurous trekking. Plan with a group of people to enjoy yourself. Women are not allowed because it's totally unsafe. They tell no plastic is allowed but you can see a tons of waste in the pics attached. This review is completely based on my experience.

The greatest time to go trekking is at night because you won't feel tired climbing then. When you arrive for the pooja between six and eight in the morning, you will be blessed by Lord Shiva and Suriya Bagavan. However, as soon as you are blessed, you should leave because when the sun rises, the mountain gets extremely hot and we can't keep our foot on hills. Keep a compact rucksack with a torch, two water bottles, energy bars and one piece of clothes--veshti is preferable--in it at all times. Seven hills must be climbed, the first and seventh hills will be challenging, there are no medical services, and you must take care of yourself. The second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth hills all have stores.
