Magnificent maybe the adjective for this fortified palace! Built by Veer Singh in 15th century the palace towers above small hamlet just outside Datia. Could be maintained better. The approach road from the highway can be better though.
India is truly a land of rich history of palaces, and forts. Veer Singh Palace is an example of history forgotten or never visited. The Palace can be seen from NH44 and was only a chance encounter and a whim to visit the palace. A 5-minute drive from the highway (from M.P.) The total visit time from parking, purchasing a ticket, and visiting the palace without a guide is 45 minutes.
Worth the visit!
Best place of you want to have pre wedding shoot..
The only think we bad is the smell of bats urine
It is a beautiful nicely designed palace. Some people said it was full of bats, but when I visited it in March 2023, it was clean and well lit. So much of efforts must have been put to make it.
The palace was built in the 19th century by Raja Veer Singh, the ruler of the princely state of Datia.
The palace is an excellent example of the blend of Indian and European architectural styles. The palace has beautiful arches, domes, and intricate carvings on the walls and pillars. The palace also has a beautiful garden with fountains and sculptures, which adds to its charm.
The palace has now been converted into a museum and is open to the public. The museum houses a vast collection of artifacts, including weapons, paintings, sculptures, and manuscripts. It also has a display of the lifestyle and culture of the royal family of Datia.
Visitors can explore the palace and the museum, learn about the history and culture of the region, and admire the beautiful architecture and artwork. The palace is a must-visit destination for history and art lovers visiting Datia.

One of the most underrated palaces that exists in India. It's an untouched beauty lying unnoticed in the gullies of a small town. The approach road is narrow and difficult to cross with a four wheeler. Parking space is there but it's a slope so requires some skills to park.
This palace was constructed by Bir Singh Deo for his friend and Mughal emperor, Jahangir. It has 7 floors, with 2 underground and 5 above. An excellent blend of Mughal and Bundelkhandi architecture, this site is decorated with pillars, galleries, chhatries and wall paintings. Because it is visited by very few people, you will get a strange vibe here that will make you fall in love with this monument. It definitely needs more praise and attention. Must visit if you are around Jhansi!!
Datia town also has several other monuments that are worth exploring such as Datia palace, royal chhatries.

The place is fine but a lot of space is closed and a lot of places smell dirty but it was clean and there was a bee on the upper floor, a lot of repairing is needed, a lot of space and it should be opened completely. And in some places it is written in a lot of places, so it should be repaired.
