Veena - by the Beach - Holiday home in Mararikulam - Alappuzha, India

One of the unique heritage property I have stayed. The property is right in front of the beach, so you can imagine how beautiful it would be to relax watching sunset accompanied by the humming of the sea. The ambience is really incredible. It offers great hospitality, comfortness along with amazing foods! Special thanks to Raju chettan, harshan and sheeja chechi for making our stay more comfortable.

Most recommended Villa stay in Kerala! It is exactly on the beach and it is your private beach ( other than morning entire day very few visitors ). Food is delicious and caretaker is helpful and provides excellent service!

When it said 'by the beach', I did not expect it to be this close. It was literally there by the sandy beach. The super friendly staff made our stay so homely. A beautiful house by the beach all for ourselves. Pampered by the super chef, Harshan, who cooked delicious food of our choice and caretaker Raju who made sure all our needs are catered to. The facility was kept clean, neat and beautiful. Kids really enjoyed it as well. Perfect vacation spot.

A lovely property on the beach! It is a reassembled traditional Kerala house maintained really well. The service and the food were fantastic. Kids loved playing in the shallow pool in the house and the sand and the adults could just relax. Loved everything about this place. The rooms, maintenance,service and the location.

It breaks my heart to see a beautiful place managed very poorly, they have amazing staff Raju and Kharchad have made made me feel like I've never left home However, the cleanliness of this house is very poor, the water in their bathroom is unfiltered, it literally smells like sewage water, the beach is beautiful from a distance only, when you get close you'd understand that the beach is used as public toilet by the village people. I have stayed for two nights only although I booked for three, I was cleaning myself with bottled water to avoid using their sewage water during my stay, and the owner is very greedy, I have paid for the total stay in advance and they refused to refund me back my money and now they don't even respond to my calls!

Best heritage house I have stayed in my life. First time visit to such a beach facing homestay. Such a splendid hospitality. Raju Chetan is the staff who looks after the guests. He has been serving there for past 17 YEARS!!! You can judge his calibre with his service. Chef Harshan makes yummy authentic Kerala cuisine. Don't get disheartened by their charges. 8K for a day! You should break that 8k as 5k(rent)+ 2k(Kerala cuisine) and 1k(Snacks and other appetizers). 3 meals of food and beach facing homestay, best ambience and 200+ years old Travancore royal family vacation resort! would be the justification for 8k charge. Do pay a visit to this marvellous yet a hidden gem in Marari beach.

Little bit like a hidden treasure for us. We were looking at a family getaway and exploring the Marari beach side options and landed up on this old, traditional Private Beach facing villa. It gives a feel of the Kerala traditional houses, very painstakingly put together. Parents appreciated it a lot. We loved spending time on the beach, not the cleanest in Alleppey due to super active fishing activities, but a super long stretch.If you enjoy exploring how the fishing economy works, it is an added bonus to observe. Good Traditional Kerala food, if someone is expecting continental/other cuisines, that may not be exactly what would be available. Very courteous staff made the stay a pleasure. Recommended for short trip and for a different experience!

In one Word - Marvelous!! A small hideout away from the City hustle and right in front of the beach! The ambience, the cultural heritage, the food, the service offered by the staff is so welcoming and homecoming! Loved it! Experience it to feel the awesomeness
