Wonderful place for small trip with children. Children's park is good. Avoid going too far on the dam if you don't want to see lovers.
A short time pass. Pit stop. Not much to enjoy. But ok to do a pit stop. The water level is less. Parks can be maintained well. Not many shops around.
Awesome place to visit , after tindivanam and kootearipattu junction on the left side you can see the way that goes along the dam side which is beautiful and so much of Greenery, The road is good till the park area. There are two parks near the dam to spend time with kids. It needs to be maintained well . Near the dam Opening area u need to be careful as the road is not good and slushy. During heavy rain and dam Opening it's not possible to cross the way as the road will be closed due to flooding of water .
It's a very Nice place to visit. To enjoy weekend with our friends and family especially couples spot .... In evening or rainy days ....the dam view was awesome and I like the sun set
One the way to chennai to Trichy highway. We took our breakfast in the dam park. Its a very big Dam if u see in the top. You have to travel 4 km to reach Dam entrance from highway.if u go by bike u can go the top of the Dam. Its look like a sea. One time you can plan if u go by car from chennai to your native. But park mainteance very poor. No toilet facility available. Some small shop for tifen. But u can bring food outside and take it. Kids play area there but not good conditions. If Govt take some necessary action to renovate the park will help the local people.

Its about 25 km from Villupuram and Tindivanam. If there is more water then it would be best tourist spot.
While my Visit the dam is almost full but not overflow. If we go during overflow it give another experience. As usual all other tourist place here also drink bottle everywhere
It's a must visit place if you go to Pondicherry. I promise to you that, you will feel that heaven is really on Earth. Its relaxing for the eyes after using electronic gadgets for months and peaceful if you are stressed out. I would strongly recommend this place if you want to see the beauty of mother nature and relax.
