Vazhachal Waterfalls - Featured Reviews (11759)
When exploring Athirapally Waterfalls, consider adding it to your itinerary, as the same ticket grants access to Vazhachal Waterfalls. Parking facilities are available. Enjoy the breathtaking view of Step Falls during high water levels, complemented by beautiful gardens and picnic spots--ideal for quality time with family and friends. Exercise caution around monkeys, known for their food-snatching tendencies, while relishing this picturesque experience
A 5 mins walk from the entrance wilk bring you to this falls. You have a large area to cover to see the falls from all directions. The maintenance is good. Located near the check post. Little crunched parking space.
Witness the beauty of this cascading waterfall during the monsoon, when it is in all its glory. It's located in the Vazhachal forest division of Kerala. On the way from Valaparai to Athirapalli, this is the first major waterfall you will encounter. An entry ticket is a must to enter the waterfall. The same ticket can be used to enter Athirapalli waterfall too. So, please retain the ticket if you wish to visit both. The path leading to the falls is neatly laid and the surrounding is clean. While the entry into the water is restricted, you can admire the beauty of the falls when walking on the pathway along the path of the falls. There's a refreshment stall located inside to help with your snacking needs.
Let me say for the first time, those who go to see Athirapilli falls will not have the feeling that going there is a waste of time. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. And if you have a feeling that you have seen the Niagrah Watter Fall in India, isn't it a big deal? You have to go there without much effort and come back. If so, I guarantee that those who travel there will be happy
Vazhachal and athirapilly share the same entrance ticket. Do not miss this beautiful waterfall along with the wall that you get to take alongside it. The place is so quaint and calm and does not see the same crowd as Athirapilly falls. It's really quiet and peaceful inside and I highly recommend you take your time here and walk for a while
Vazhachal Waterfalls is a breathtaking natural wonder located in Kerala, India, and I had the pleasure of visiting it recently. This cascading beauty nestled within the lush Sholayar forest is a sight to behold. The first thing that struck me was the pristine surroundings. The dense greenery and the sounds of the forest create an immersive experience that transports you to a different world. The waterfalls themselves are impressive, with a powerful flow that creates a mesmerizing spectacle. The sight and sound of the water crashing down into the pool below is truly captivating. Visiting during the monsoon season was a great decision, as the waterfalls were at their fullest, showcasing nature's raw power. The mist rising from the waterfall added to the mystique of the place. Be prepared to get wet, as the spray from the falls reaches quite a distance. The area around Vazhachal Waterfalls is well-maintained, with designated viewing areas and walking paths. It's an excellent spot for nature enthusiasts, photographers, and families. The local guides are knowledgeable and can provide insights into the flora and fauna of the region. One highlight of my visit was the opportunity to see several species of colorful butterflies and various birds in the vicinity, making it a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts as well. While there are a few small shops and stalls selling refreshments and souvenirs, it's advisable to carry your own snacks and water as options can be limited. In conclusion, Vazhachal Waterfalls is a natural gem that offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Its pristine beauty, combined with the surrounding forest, creates a serene and rejuvenating atmosphere. It's a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Kerala, and I highly recommend experiencing this marvel of nature firsthand.
The waterfalls are gorgeous. You cannot get into the water or even get a proper full sized photo with the waterfalls, but it's quite a beauty to simply watch and relax. You can spend 15 mins or 1 hour here, depending on what kind of traveller you are. It's better to go here in the first half of the day, especially during monsoon. The place is quite well created by the forest department, but I wonder if the canteen and children's play area are used by the public. Toilets are clean and well maintained. The medicinal herb garden was not open, but I assume that's because of monsoon. I hope the forest rest house is available to the public for stays, because that's an amazing location. The entry ticket at Athirappilly is valid at Vazhachal as well. If you haven't gone to Athirappilly, then the ticket price is Rs.50 per adult, with still and video camera charges extra.
I highly recommend a visit to Vazhachal. Allow yourself to be captivated by its raw beauty and let the music of the waterfalls soothe your soul. It is an experience that will leave an everlasting imprint on your heart and remind you of the wonders that exist in our world.

"A tranquil and picturesque location. While there isn't a lot to see, the place is well-maintained. Unfortunately, a section of the dam was damaged during the Kerala floods in 2018. Despite this, it remains a great and incredibly beautiful location."
