Horrible eye test. My fiance had gone to their hospital for eye check-up, before we came in contact. I am an optometrist myself. They had prescribed her -1.25/-0.50 in right eye and -2.00/-0.50 in left eye. She was not comfortable at all, she had gone back to them saying the problem, I don't know what kind of rookie optometrist they have got, they could not even make out the prescription was wrong, they had again rechecked and told her it will take time to get adjusted. They had charged 4000 for the eyeglasses which is not even 2000 rs worth. Later she came to bangalore to my store, I checked her eyes, her eye power turned out to be -1.00/-0.25 cyl in both the eyes. Normally after the eyes is checked by the optometrist, the prescription is sent to the ophthalmologist for the confirmation. It shows that even the doctor (Dr. Narayan Moorthy) they have got is not knowledged. I would just ask the hospital to improve the quality of their eye specialists or else just close the hospital. Eyes are the most important part of the human body, which gives a person, the ability to see. Please don't play with them for the sake of money.
MRC eye hospital provides better services though it is a charitable hospital. Employees here are no better than what it used to be in government hospitals a few years back. Government services have improved a wake up call for the private sector.
The people at the reception counter are not at all customer friendly. On the contrary they are interested in driving patients away. I had been to the hospital at 12.35 and turned away saying that the hospital timings were upto 12.30 only on Sunday. On pointing out that the timings are upto 1 pm they replied that the doctors will refuse to see the patient.
