Varkala the "Mini Goa of the South."Varkala Beach is a popular tourist destination located in the Indian state of Kerala. Known for its stunning cliffs, golden sands, and clear blue waters, it offers a picturesque setting for relaxation and leisure activities. The beach is also renowned for its natural springs and mineral-rich waters, which are believed to have therapeutic properties. It's a great place for beach lovers, sunbathers, and those looking for a serene and scenic coastal experience. You can go this beach anytime but going in rainy season is the best. So many restaurants and hotels are there along the cliff.
It is a beautiful and well maintained beach. Unfortunately due to the weather conditions, people were not allowed to play in sea water when we visited today. It is really crowded and there are many resorts and restaurants nearby. It is so peaceful to watch the sunset here. Kids can play in the sand and have fun. It is the best choice to visit here with your friends or family during the time of sunset. There are many parking areas, still we had to wait some time, maybe due to the weekend rush.
One of the favourite vacation spot for me.. love this view of the beach from the cliff!!! Picture perfect views along the beach . A number of rooms on the cliff offer a priceless view of the sea and beach..
"Varkala Beach - Just okay for a one-day visit. The evening sunset is lovely. However, I recommend avoiding the beachside shops as they tend to overprice everything. Personally, I disliked the nearest beachside shops."
Varkala Cliff and beach are preciously close to heart. It is our first choice for a weekend getaway everytime and we have lost count of our visits. This is the closest experience you can get to Goa in Kerala. - Clean and serene beaches - shallow waves feel safe for all age groups. Life guards will be on patrol always. - The Cliff has a majestic view of sunset. - very vibrant and happening place during weekends, with live music, great food, friendly doggos and window shopping. - The golden hour is mesmerizing, be it the North or South cliff, or any of the conjoint beaches. - visit cafes, lay back and enjoy your food soaking up the view and the fresh breeze. - you can try activities like surfing, paragliding, kayaking. Also there are many centres that offer yoga courses. - plenty of parking space in the Helipad ground. - place will be really hot and humid during sunny weather. PS: Entry to beach might be restricted during rainy season. Most of the cafes usually close around 10:30 PM.
It can be mensiines as a mini Goa @ Varkala! A pleasant location for spending a day here in the beach will definitely refresh its visitors! Beautiful place with cliff, sands. Lot of antique and local items to purchase. Sea food items are there in hundreds of stalls and it becomes lively with the dusk. There are orchestra songs in some restaurants. Lot of economy accommodations. Close to railway station where local bus and autos are available for transport.
One of the best beach in Kerala There are many tourist attractions here and we can see a lot of foreigners

Whether you're looking for a serene beach retreat or an immersive cultural experience, Varkala has it all. Don't miss out on this enchanting place!
It always feel special to wander around the narrow streets of varkala cliff and finding all sorts of new things and people. It has a wide variety of shops to buy souvenirs and restaurants. Some shops kept me wondering how the collect this much things
A very calm and peaceful beach As a native, I always love to visit here because of its calmness and serenity. Compared to the rush in North Cliff, South Cliff is comparatively silent. You can find some beautiful cafes on the top of the cliff, and th
