Wonderful location in the forest/jungle with astonishing bird life. Great service - all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The guides really know the forest and its wildlife. They really take care of you, ensuring you see so much, but stay safe. The food is excellent.

Our two-day stay exceeded all expectations and provided us with an absolutely incredible experience. We were pleasantly surprised by the sheer amount we were able to see and do during such a short period of time. Our forest trek was an exhilarating adventure, filled with the anticipation of spotting magnificent wildlife. Following the sounds and signals of animals, we embarked on a thrilling journey to catch a glimpse of the elusive tiger. However, nature had a different surprise in store for us. As we ventured deeper into the wilderness, we stumbled upon a majestic clan of elephants, astonishingly close to us. The experience was simply awe-inspiring, and it exceeded all our expectations. We would like to extend a special thanks to Mr. Ram, as our unforgettable experience would not have been possible without his guidance and expertise. His invaluable assistance and knowledge of the area played a crucial role in making our adventure truly exceptional. We are immensely grateful for his efforts and dedication, which contributed significantly to the success of our trip.

It's not a hotel. It's an experience. Loved our time at Vanghat even during the testing times of incessant rains (though not recommended to visit during rains). The walk to the lodge, walking by the river and quiet candle light dinners at dinning hall.

Vanghat was meant to be a weekend getaway but was much more than that. Tucked into the forest next to the Ramnagar river its the perfect setting for wildlife enthusiasts ,birders or just to relax in natures lap. The adventure starts with the trek to the property. There is plenty to keep you occupied if you are looking at activities during your stay. Ram the naturalist at vanghat is the best company one can have. Thanks to him we spotted so many birds and learnt so much about them.We were also lucky to spot a herd of elephants among other wildlife, attended a jewellery making workshop and enjoyed sitting next to the river. The food was delicious and the staff took good care of us. The mud huts are basic but comfortable. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we would love to stay for longer next time.

This is a wonderful choice of place to stay if you are looking to get away from the noisy touristic crowds. All staff were helpful, friendly & did all they could to make our stay a successful one. Many thanks to Ram our naturalist guide ~ your knowledge is awesome & we enjoyed your company so much! The food throughout our 4night stay was absolutely delicious not to mention plentiful! We would not hesitate to recommend a stay here. A truly wonderful experience.

Knowledge and Peace Location: Vanghat is one of a kind. Nestled in a forest besides the Ramganga river. There is no direct road to the property. You entered the peace zone as you walk on foot, then take a jeep, the cross the Ramganga river on a lovely raft and then on foot. The entry itself is surprising and surreal at the same time. Accommodation: We stayed in the mud cottage. It was beautiful. It was as sustainable as it can be. No geyser (hot water can be fetched to your room if required), water in flasks, no plastic or one time use stuffs. Flora and Fauna: The flora and Fauna is quite diverse. We got to meet a lots of new varieties of plants. One can observe more than 10 varieties of amazing birds just sitting in the common area. You can spot lot more on your trails. If lucky you can spot elephants, Percupines, tigers, mountain goats, a variety of birds, sloths, etc. Guide: Ramji is an excellent educationist and conservator. He has deep knowledge on the flora and fauna and various other topics. He is very gentle and is great with kids too. we collected seeds and he taught us how make seed jewellery (he has a good collection of seeds). Other staffs including Santosh was courteous and knowledgeable. He was able to tell us a lot about birds around. Trails and Waterfall: Ramji takes you nature trails each morning and evening. One can go along the river, over the hills, take a dip in the river (also cross it), visit the waterfall which was simply surreal. Food: food is simple and delicious. Overall the visit was enriching (learnt and documented a lot about flora and fauna, collected seeds and learned seed jewellery) . My 5 yr old had a great time and felt he just bloomed there experiencing the awe and wonders of nature. A must visit place.

As a nature loving couple, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Vanghat. Located in the heart of wilderness, surrounded by forested mountain slopes, and with the life-giving Ramganga River flowing by, Vanghat is a haven for wildlife. Both inside the property and outside it, life abounds in the form of vibrant Himalayan birds, mischievous Terai langurs, shy barking deer, and more. If you are really lucky, you might also get a glimpse of the lord of the forest, the tiger, or the gentle giants, the elephants as they come down to the river to drink or bathe in its waters. There were plenty of activities (hiking, swimming, stargazing, etc.,) to do at Vanghat and Ram, the naturalist at Vanghat, will ensure you enjoy every moment of the stay by learning new things. The way to Vanghat itself is thrilling but requires a basic fitness level as you need to trek for about 1.8 km and also cross the river on a raft. Wildlife lovers would also appreciate that fact that Vanghat is a truly Eco-friendly place ensuring that tourism goes hand in hand with conservation. Loved the food there as well - warm and fresh and delectable. Everything about Vanghat was truly memorable. The best thing is that it is an excellent place for a digital detox. You can rest your eyes by shifting them from cell phones and laptop screens to wide expanses of incredible natural beauty. Vanghat is a place we would definitely visit again and again whenever city life becomes too trying and we wish to rejuvenate ourselves.
