Visited Vallakottai Murugan Hindu temple near Chennai. The temple has a wonderful ambiance and facilities. The staff is friendly and helpful. We came here for Tulabara pooja, which is free of charge. The temple is currently undergoing refurbishment. It's a great place to explore the historical Hindu architecture. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
A quiet and serene temple located on Perumalpattu-Kottamedu Road, two bus stops away from Oragadam junction, dedicated to Lord Murugan along with his consorts Sri Valli and Sri Devasena. As you walk from the main road towards the temple on Sannadhi Street you are greeted by the unruffled temple pond. At the doorway to the temple you are welcomed by a huge stone idol of Lord Ganesha on the left and Lord Murugan to the right. There are smaller shrines dedicated to Lord Shanmukha, Goddess Ambal and Lord Ganesha within the temple premises. Some renovation work was in progress at the temple for the temple Kumbhabhishekam. There was not much crowd for Darshan, though it was the evening before Adi Pooram day in July 2023. This temple is located at walkable distance from Vallakottai temple bus stop and can be accessed through MTC Bus no. 583. According to Wikipedia Vallakottai temple is revered in Thirupugazh composed by Arunagirinathar, a 15th-century saint. The temple is revered in eight verses by the saint. As per a legend, the saint worshipped Murugan at Thiruporur temple and was on his way to Thiruthani Murugan Temple. During his sleep, a divine voice directed him to go to Vallakottai temple. He woke up to realise it was the order of Murugan and he visited the temple. The temple is considered equal in importance to the Arupadaiveedu, the six abodes of Murugan.
One of the near and we'll maintained temple. At this time it is under maintenance so floor are dusty outside. Prasatham cost 30 is not up to the mark. We went Sunday evening not too croud free to visit even in week days. Few hundred meters from oragadam Sriperumbudur highway. Easy accessble.
A quiet and serene temple located on Perumalpattu-Kottamedu Road, two bus stops away from Oragadam junction, dedicated to Lord Murugan along with his consorts Sri Valli and Sri Devasena. If we visit in normal days, able to worship Lord MURUGAN very closely & can see face clearly. More peaceful and Must visit temple.
Super Murgan Temple. Famous land mark temple. Main deity is Murugan.
An Amazing temple Blissful experience Can experience the same divine feeling as other six abodes of Lord Murugan Lord Murugan here was much taller than Palani temple which gives a very good view . Above all temple priests are friendly in nature A Must Visit on Tuesdays As usual florists charge around 300
Beautiful antique type hotel, which is still well maintained. The grandeur is something different from other hotels. Food quality is also good. Have not given 5 star because you can see some of the old carpet, table, chairs etc. Those could be renovated or replaced.
Good place, looks limited car parking area & at present temple renovation work going.
