Vala House - Home Stay in Kochi, Kuzhuppilly - Ernakulam, India

I recently stayed at this hotel, and my experience left much to be desired. Firstly, there was a complete lack of hot water in the bathroom, even after wasting hours of running water, which was extremely frustrating. The hotel's remote location was also a drawback, as it required a 2-kilometer walk to reach the beach, and disappointingly, no bikes were offered to facilitate access to nearby locations. Furthermore, the absence of an on-site restaurant meant that ordering dinner was the only option, and the excruciatingly long 1.5-hour wait for food to be delivered was highly inconvenient. Basic amenities such as a water kettle, soap, dental, and hygiene kits were conspicuously absent, especially considering the hefty charge of 5000 INR per night. While the rooms were indeed spacious and offered a lovely view from the balconies overlooking the backwaters, the absence of a TV in the room was disappointing, particularly for families with kids who might have appreciated some form of entertainment. Overall, despite a few positive aspects, the numerous inconveniences and missing amenities made this hotel stay less than satisfactory.

Stayed here for two days in the month of November. This place is the best thing that has happened to us in a long long time , we have fallen in love with this place and my wife and I will definitely visit this place again . The place is plush and clean , the staff and owners have done a wonderful job in maintaining the property. Special mention to Lalu , he was extremely helpful and humble .He showed us around the property and also showed us the Chinese fishing nets.We loved interacting with the staff and enjoyed the breakfast prepared by the staff . It was such a memorable stay. Thank you Abhilash Sir, Lalu and the other staff members. Do try out the Chilliout Cafe nearby , that cafe will amaze you too.

The most amazing property in town. The rooms and bathrooms are exceptionally clean. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. Lalu and Vishnu were always just a call away during our stay and they made us feel at home all the time. The complimentary bicycle and scooty was a plus as well. Overall simply the best place and best people you can be around. Mr. Abhi was also very kind and very friendly

The experience was nothing short of magical! The moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms at this homestay are impeccably maintained, offering a perfect blend of comfort and style. I felt like I was stepping into a luxurious sanctuary every time I entered my room. The attention to detail and cleanliness truly stood out, making my stay all the more enjoyable. What impressed me the most was the top-notch service provided by the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was perfect. Their hospitality was genuine, and they were always ready to assist with any request I had. Moreover, for those who love to have some fun, there's a dedicated area to play games. I thoroughly enjoyed engaging in various activities with friends and fellow guests, creating unforgettable memories.

A lovely place to get away from the crowds. Great setting with views of the backwaters right from your bedroom. Friendly staff and great service. The fishing experience was great!

Vala house is a lovely place to stay. The villa is located a little further along Cherai beach so is in a quieter area, a few mins walk from a small and quiet beach compared to the busy beach further down. The rooms are beautiful, clean, nice furniture and art work help to give a luxurious feel with a lovely bathroom. The staff are friendly and very helpful. A delicious breakfast was prepared every day, local food and incredibly tasty. The rooms and terrace overlook the backwaters, we were lucky enough to catch sunrise which was beautiful. Would highly recommend.

The overall experience was very good. Hospitality, service, ambience, location was extremely good. Have to mention specifically about the caretaker Lalu who was very attentive for our every requirement. Rooms well maintained and hygiene. Very nice place for couples or family seeking time away from the busy schedules. Having a full time kitchen/ meal service could have added one more feather in their cap. Overall very nice place.
