V. M. Salgaocar Hospital - Hospital in Chicalim - South Goa, India

We are new to Goa, and my watchman suggested this name. I am very happy with their treatment, panel of doctors, staff incharge, hygiene, and prompt services. Only thing they can improve is their canteen. No variety, and everything is available only at specific timings, including tea/coffee. Since there are no shops nearby, a 24/7 fully functional canteen is a must here.

Hospital entrance is clean and has parking for 2 & 4 wheeler and with wheelchair accessibility. RTPCR is done here. Their are mostly all departments and their is cleanliness inside the hospital.

We were visiting in Goa and needed to go to the ER around midnight. They had excellent, fast acting staff, right from the guards at the door to the doctors in the ER. Their prices were honestly very reasonable compared to my own city's ER costs. Obviously clean which is rare for many hospitals at that price range. They were prompt, clear in instruction, paperwork simple and quick to fill out, pharmacy stocked to at least our needs.. Their facilities like pathology worked till late in the night, providing reports quickly, and also responsibly emailing us the report at the promised time to us the next day without any need for reminding them. Their facilities like ER, pharmacy, billing, pathology are all physically close within the hospital so a patient's attendant does not need to abandon their family too long when going through the formalities. If ever the need arises for us to see an ER in Goa, I would be very comfortable going back here.

Treatment is bad in respect of their high charges. Most of doctors are retired from some other place, they don't have perfection in own profession, a lot of gray area,

Very slow process. Expect to spend longer than usual. Good doctors, good duty doctors. Helpful nurses and trainees

I'm from Hyderabad and i was in Goa for a vacation and just when I was about to leave i had a shoulder dislocation. Not being aware of it i travelled from Benaulim to Dabolim to catch my flight. Just when my pain got severe i went to this hospital. It was so quiet i thought the hospital was closed for the day. I walked straight into the emergency medicine and explained all that had happened. The duty doctors and the nurses were so kind, polite and respectful. They immediately took an x-ray and confirmed it was a dislocation, gave me painkillers and told me the Ortho Dr is on leave today today, so we'll try to fix it for you and if they couldn't, then i had to stay there till Monday and get myself treated. I was afraid when they said they'll try but they sent my x ray to the Ortho Dr and before my painkiller drip was over the Dr.Wilfred arrived. He was so kind and friendly, introduced himself to me and while i was introducing myself and explaining what had happened he put my shoulder back in place. All of this happened in just half an hour to 45 minutes and we were able to catch the flight before the scheduled time. Unlike other hospitals they didn't drag or complicate things for us (eg: fill in forms, go register, show identity, pay first treatment next etc). Infact my husband voluntarily asked them if they are not going to give him the bills. And he told them that this was the first time experiencing the hospital staff being so nice to us. Thank you so much to the Emergency department duty doctors, nurses and staff and a special thanks to Doctor Wilfred for coming all the way to the hospital even though it was a holiday. The hospital is excellent and care of patients is top priority.Compared to other reputed hospitals these rates are economical. Nurses and staff helpful but the cafetaria closes at 6pm and then for patients relatives no food and dinner.Timing of cafeteria should be upto 9pm atleast with bigger menu of items as nearby at walking distance no eating restaurents for patients accomplice.

I suggest people never ever visit SMRC Hospital. It is Horrible when they deal with patient. The doctors don't know to talk to the patient. We go to the doctor to get well but their behavior and rude attitude will let the patient fall more sick. I request each and every individual not to visit SMRC HOSPITAL. They are just making money and nothing. They don't care about the patient. If doctors cant take care of the patient then they should resign. Basic manners they don't have how to talk to the patient. They don't think that they are getting paid by whatever taxes we pay. Private hospitals should give good service as we pay for it. But SMRC Hospital is WORSE.
