UTTARAYAN - Featured Reviews (1880)
The museum housed in the Bhavana, comprising of a permanent display section and the five homes lived in by Tagore, collectively referred to as the Uttarayan Complex, attracts thousands of visitors. The architecture of the houses, the interior decoration, the pieces of furniture strewn about the rooms bring to life the persona of Tagore. This unit of Rabindra-Bhavana has 1580 original paintings of Rabindranath and 554 by others. The photograph collection (11380), the curio collection (3855) and 52 statues. The collection of addresses and certificates also form important sections of this unit. A detailed and descriptive list of the paintings and their items in the museum unit has been serially published in the Catalogue-in-progress. An important aspect of Bhavana activities is to mount exhibitions in 'Vichitra'. Drawing upon its own rich collection of photographs and other memorabilia, exhibitions depicting different themes from the poet's life, are held regularly throughout the year.

Entry fees-70(for all Indian) 10(for students) A nice place having santiniketan museum inside it .
// Uttarayan // Uttarayan Complex is a prestigious place in Santiniketan where Rabindranath Tagore used to live... The splendid building of Uttarayan Complex is divided into various buildings having distinct architectural styles.. It consists of five houses namely- Udichi, Udayana, Konarka, Shamali and Punascha... A prayer hall is also there which was constructed by Devendranath Tagore in 1863 where Brahmo prayers were performed... The complex also houses an art gallery and a museum which exhibits the Nobel Prize medal, a watch and a bangle of Tagore... The gallery of the complex displayed magnificent murals that look simple, wonderful and attract the tourists.. A must visit place. N.B.:- The complex is closed on Wednesday...
The perfect place to detox your mind and soul and enjoy art and culture at its truest form. Support the local baul artists performing with whatever you can. Enjoy handmade jewellery and clothes at the most reasonable prices and remember to support the small local shops available.
Size wise it's a small one. But very well displayed. Photography not allowed. This is disappointing. Visit is worh even though entry fee is as high as Rs70 per head.
Actually we( means my family) visit on the occasion of rabindra jayanti, That's why it's free to visit that place otherwise it's Rs 70 per adult, students of other institutions charge Rs 10, and for the students of Visva-Bharati it's free.
Simply wow. If you really a history lover you are going to love it. You will feel connected to bengali roots. Not only Indians, people from all over the world visit here.
Nice collection of Rabindranath Tagore's used materials including pens, specs, footwear, dresses etc. Different charts, pictures and descriptions to describe the family history, his life stoires etc. The museum was Air conditioned, well maintained. The nobel replica was kept in a glass box. One has to keep their shoes outside before entering and photography is not allowed inside the museum. You can see in the same premises, but outside of the museum, his living room and the Austin Martin car. Personally I found rs 70 per head entry fees a bit expensive. But surely that is nothing compared to the emotions attached to it.
A very beautiful place.... Totally peace of mind. You can see various types of memories & personal used items of our Novelist Rabindranath Tagor at Rabindra Museum. Full of natural beauty & also you can see the open air Education system here.
