Usthad Hotel - South Indian restaurant in Chennai - Chengalpattu, India

2nd visit: Briyani, chicken pollichathu, kizhi parotta- taste is too worst. Chicken was over cooked. Please don't try this restaurant. 1st visit:We ordered idiyappam, Appam, kizhi parotta. Everything tastes really good. Only the atmosphere is little messy.

It is a small hotel with seating space up to 30 people. The service was fast but the dishes were limited. Been there a few times and most of the dishes on the menu were not available. The place is within a food Street. Parking space is limited. Suitable for bikes only. Beef items are good

Kerala style Porotta and beef. Food hygiene is to be improved. Dine in feels little bit congested. Toilet has to be maintained well.

5 star for food and service. Staffs very very attentive and polite. Place is a little small, even at 3pm it was crowded for lunch. Had to share table with others but it is quite normal in this shop. Meals was really good, the fried fish was very good. Squid masala was good as well. Definitely recommend this place, try it once and you'd probably go again. Seems like all the staff was friendly. Only thing I wouldn't recommend is the washroom.

This Hotel is One of the Best in Karapakkam.. I Ordered 1 Chicken Biriyani it was good and quantity is also ok with the price... Taste is Good and it is Kerala style Chicken Biriyani. The Ambience was good... Overall It is ok... Price for One Chicken Biriyani is 140 Rupees..+ GST

The food is really good and has an authentic Kerala taste. Ambience needs improvement especially chairs, service is off a okay type

Went there seeing the reviews. But atleast for us the food was really bad. Got re heated porotta from yesterday.When asked he said it is fresh. Anyway I am not eating porotta for the first time and to me it was old one Also the beef we ordered was really bad. Even the pieces were not good. I doubt if it was actually beef seeing the color and texture But i think ghee rice was good. Saw lot of people ordering it. Anyway porotta was a huge mistake atleast for us

I am adding this review after my fourth visit and found there is absolutely nothing to rate them down. Ustad hotel, karappakkam is situated just behind to the karappakkam bus stop near(left) Doshi Risington apartment. They occupies a small place in that building but keeping it neat and clean also the super express service from staffs is worth mentioning. This time I have ordered non veg meals and it is more than what you get for the price with exceptional taste. Non-veg meals include, pappadam, pickle,sambar,aviyal,rasam,thoran, fish curry, chicken fry, beef curry and Payasam along with Chamba red kerala rice. Not only the non items sambar and aviyal I felt like eating at traditional trivandrum sadya. What you pay all for these is just 150+GST. I haven't had such tastey meals even from any restaurants in kerala including those are famous for veggies. Previously I experienced beef and chicken biriyani, porotta and beef from them those were also tastey but not awesome like this.
