Urappakkam Railway Station - Suburban train line in Chennai - Chengalpattu, India

One of the good stations in the line.Common station for more than 5 big localities/villages around. So considerable crowd is keeping this station busy at the evenings and mornings.Because of this reason, autos also bit costly to use. At the evenings you can get vegetables and fruits at cheap rate from local vendors. It will be best if they add digitalized ticket counter and add ticket machines.

This railway station just little bit grow up few months before. Little bit grow up means this place has two railway's coffee and Cool Drinks shop, Extra stone chairs and then, this place get any time croud. especially morning and evening time lots of people travel the train from this place.

Chennai City entry.Trains are available up to Beach, Tirumalpur, Villupuram, Gumudipoondi, Kanchipuram and Arakkonam. New platform 3 is opened and new trains from Chengalpattu to Tambaram are added.Trains are available from 4 AM - 11:30 PM for both Beach and Chengalpattu routes.

Over bridge not maintained properly. During rainy season u ll get wet. No proper auto service during night. 300m to reach main road by walk.

The availability of trains are good and if you miss one based on schedule it would take 10- 30 mins sometimes 45 mins waiting here is better than struck in a traffic in a Bus and station is neat and clean and buying tickets is easy and quick the staff support is good and the last train for Beach station is around 11:20pm and for Chengalpattu is around 11:45pm Afterall its easy , cheap and time saving

Still following the old cardboard ticket but after 20 years there are two stores in the railway station helpfull to buy snacks water bottle for child we can buy milk chips etc

Neatly maintained railway station. However lighting need to be improved in platform 3. Stray dogs, beggers create nuisance during workdays peak hours.

Station is clean but access to station from GST road(from tea kadi stop) is soo poor and terrible, passenger facing difficulty in night and early morning access to road no street lights maintained properly
